Hiya all, I recently purchased my first land cruiser, an 85 fj60 with almost 170k, and I would like to do some things to make it simpler and better. Though i live in the tropics, I decided to strip out my A/C, since it was not hooked up anyhow. so that is done. replaced the radiator and dealt with a fuel supply issue. done. now, I am going to attempt a desmog. I need help with this, and I have spent the last month reading all I could on this subject in these forums, while trying to learn about suspension, engine, and electrical basics that I will need in the future. While some of the diagrams are good for reference, I am seeking detailed working knowledge of a desmog on a 2f. I don't know any real motorheads on this island, and I just moved here, so y'all are my only friends, even if you didn't know it. So, to make short of this paragraph, I want to send you any smog components you will help me to safely remove from my 60.
I also have the a/c compressor and drier, and related hoses, and the condenser. they are all in decent shape, but i'm not sure if the compressor works. I'd love to trade for FSM. otherwise, any information will be soaked right up with thanks. I plan on attempting a write-up with pictures and all the how and why.when I'm finished.
