Newbie Convert Needs Help

Hi Guys

Wow, this forum really is pacted with info but not really what I need right now. I hope you guys can help and I will be picking your brains in the future.

I live in South Africa, Cape Town and have own Land Rovers in the past to do my overlanding, but have reached a point where I cannot ignore Toyota's reliabilty.

I am about to purchase a HJ45 pick-up that needs some work, can anybody recommend a service manual for the moment that would be the most comperhensive, before rushing off and purchasing one, then another and so on. Dont ask, learnt my lessons from owning Land Rover's.

I have big plans with what will hopefully be known as "Big Bess", GMC V8 diesel engine conversion, and a full mobile home conversion inplace of the pick-up.

I think everyone will agree that the Factory Toyota Service Manuals, still in print by Toyota (just call them), are the best out there. Good luck with your truck, it may need a little work to get it in great condition, but once it's there you're right-the reliability lasts a long time!
