Newbie - Anybody used speedi sleeves?

Hi All,

Newbie here and will hit the ground running:

Having taken out my axle shafts, the inner seal has a deep groove worn into it from the rubber seal.

I dont have a 25-50mm micrometer just some old verniers, the seal diameter seems to measure ø35.12mm - sound right?

We use them at work with good success, sorry I don't have any automotive experience with them.

Some guys have had good results cleaning it real well and using JB Weld to fill the grove. Then sand it down smooth with Emory cloth and reassemble as normal. Some guys are 50K and still holding up.

If you find a Speedy Sleeve that works let us know what the part # is.

Hmm never thought about the jb weld!

Going to give the speedi sleeve a try, it looks like the ideal size does not exist, might have to go for one very slightly smaller and turn the shaft down in the lathe... will report back!

The right speedy sleeve does exist. It is metric.
I installed in both sides of my HDJ80 nearly 10.000km ago.
This weekend I removed one of them, it was totally worn down and of course leaking oil like a mad.
Might be because I used aftermarket inner seals?
But now I will by 2 new axles and replace seals with OEM.
