Ok- time to spill the beans I suppose.

While nothing has been officially signed as of yet; On Monday I will be offered a new position with a company in Utah, working for the army. I can't fathom any realistic reason to turn the offer down.

So, I'll be moving to Tooele, UT. About .5 hr outside of Salt Lake (to the west).

4 hours from moab.

4 hours from Fruita (colorado mtn biking capital...).

4 day work week, 3 day weekends every week.

Oh, yes. I'm super excited. Look at me, this is my excited face.

So, I've asked the board if they'd rather have me abdicate the 'throne' or hold onto it until next year. If anyone has any input feel free to post up, and they can read it here.

See you at cruise moab next year!

Oh, don't you worry- I'm going to tear it up.

I'll actually spend more time on my bike. My first love is mountain biking- Plus I could stand to be in better shape!

Of course, I'll have to buy all new bikes.

And 37's for the Cruiser. Maybe that Iron pig belly skid as well...

I'm working on getting Lance to move out west. There is a good chance we'll end up either in Colorado or Utah eventually. University of Utah (in SLC) has a doctoral program that I will probably apply to if I decide to keep going. Maybe we'll be neighbors some day!

SLC is a nice place, very clean and pretty well laid out. Plus, it's just so figgin' beautiful there. You should drag lance out there and check it out. I've already scoped out a few wheeling/ biking spots locally.

In undergrad, I took monthly or every other month trips out to Utah to go climbing and camping for the weekend. I've spent a lot of time in Moab and also in central Utah (at Joe's Valley, a little south of Price). I haven't spent much time in SLC, but I think I'd like it. How could you go wrong? There is like every type of landscape you could want in Utah!

The other place that I might look for jobs is Colorado. I know that there are a couple of good internships in the Ft. Collins area and also around Colorado Springs. One of my professors supposedly has connecions with the people who offer the two in the Ft. Collins/Loveland area, so that might be cool. I also think I'd like Grand Junction.

I'd love to go back to Albuquerque, but I am 100% certain that I would need to learn spanish if I want to work in the Abq. schools. And I don't have time for that right now. They're making us take the full 36 hour master's in one year (the upside is that I'll have my master's as of July ) and then another 30 credits as classes next year and then the last 12 are the full internship year, so I pretty much have no time right now!

When are you moving? We should get together sometime. Lance and I would LOVE to meet the little one (and see Leif and Michelle, too!)
