H55 5 speed wont work in an 80, the shift tower is too far forward, you need to source an h151 from overseas for a manuel swap. Clean truck!

After a quick tune up, thanks CDAN for the parts! It amazes me that it was even running , the plug wires say 1990, yes, the year of manufacture! I think the shocks are original too, seeems there are many original parts to be replaced.

I have already done 2x trips to the Sierra snow and was able to get up to 30 MPH downhill

I was joking about the 95 MPH and 25 MPG. For those of you who didnt get it. Try 75 on a flat with a strong tail wind. And 13 MPG no matter what, down hill, up hill, whatever

Just got done driving my 92 from western S Dakota to the Southern MD 16+ mpg the whole way. This truck usually gets 11-12 around town.
Oh yeah 244,249 miles on the clock right now. Tune it up to factory spec with factory parts and it will get you there. Don't listen to the anti 3fer's
