A couple more tidbits to report. Got (and installed) my rear locker.

And Surprisingly enough, My WIFE bought me a rear bumper!

Can't wait to get it together so I can start modifying it. I'm going to make a Swing down tire carrier carrier/dog ramp as soon as my EFFING bender die gets here. I'm so sick of dealing with slow/incompetent offroad companies. At the same time, it makes me appreciate PHENOMENAL ones like TMR/Bump-it Offoad/4x4Labs/Summit.

Got my 4x4 Labs rear bumper kit tacked together. Going to take it to work and finish weld the sucker together

Removed the bumper skin

Cut the crossmember

Cut the frame

Mounted up the wings

Driver's side wing has less of an bend in it. Im hoping it doesn't make remounting the bumper too hard

You can see the difference in the bends (the adjustable square has the DS angle)

I like the look of the low profile bumper. Gets rid of the Droopy Arse look of the truck

I'll post more pics as I get it all welded together. Then the build process of the tire carrier

Looking good man.

The Cruiser is Looking good man! What a woman you have, buys you a bumper! I haven't had a woman in my life yet who cared enough to buy me a quart of oil lol! Lucky guy. Does she have any sisters lol?! Looks good brother, keep up the fine craftsmanship.

Did you cut the bumper wings shorter so that the tire doesn't get into it at full stuff?

Your rig looks awesome!!! I've been wanting to 3 link mine for a while, but life's getting in the way lately, can't wait till my sons old enough to bring to the shop, then watching him will be great!!!! (Not that it's not now)

Yeah, I had to open mine up for 345/75/16'...but I'm only on J's, and no bumpstop extensions, like it low and wide ;)

I had the opportunity to buy a 1999 Pathfinder fully equipped with 90k for $1500 and turned it down in favor of my 97 LC with 157k for $9k. Crazy huh..?
The owner, a neighbor, was going through a horrible divorce and just wanted to get rid of it. But I was already looking for an 80 and found mine at the same time, and have been "cruising" ever since. :)

Part of the reason though was that I went looking for mods and upgrades for a Pathfinder and found almost nothing.

BTW the divorce is still going on (I said it was a bad one) and the truck hasn't been sold. So I may still buy it to flip for a profit. :D

Lots of work to do it like I did....but the untrained eye can't tell it was done. If only I live closer I would totally come help you do the trim.

great build Wod! love how you were able to post a 3 link front end without 20 pages of back and forth debate! plus appalogizing for being Canadian! f#%ing classic! can't wait to see what you do with the new shop.
love the rear bumper, did you ship it to your house, or cross the boarder to pick it up?

I don't argue my decisions. I just do it for my own benefit. I know what I want and if it sucks, I change it hahaha
I had it shipped to my US addy and went to get it. I come through the commercial lane so I only pay 3% duties. So I win with shipping prices (America!), American prices and availability, and bringing it across I'm not b#tt f@cked by UPS brokerage fees.
