Seems I officially have the "land cruiser" bug.. New owner of a 2006 cypress pearl GX470 with 162K. Timing belt, radiator, water pump, and the works done in the last 3K. No major upgrades planned for the immediate future as this will be a DD and not trail rig for a while.

Have a 100 series I've heavily built over the last 2 years. I love it, but really wanted a smaller one for DDing and misc stuff while not driving a 7500 Ib armored tank.

Any advice for a new GX-470 owner? Any must do preventative maintenance I should know about?

Wouldn’t be a bad idea to do the Hewitt Bypass for the secondary air injection. I’m a fairly new owner as well and this gave me some trouble and put it into limp mode. Seems a lot of folks install the bypass kit as a preventative measure. Welcome!

You've done the regular maintenance stuff. Aside from those and fluids, that covers most preventative work on the GX. I agree that a SAIS bypass is a good recommendation. That's really the only "time bomb" with the GX that I can think of, that you can't see coming. If you really want to get crazy, you could do a rear airbag swap to coils before they go, but that's more than just "preventative maintenance". Even if the airbags fail, it won't strand you or limp you like the SAIS failure.

Thanks for the heads up about the SAIS, seems common across all air injected 4.7s. 2006-2007 100 series have the same problem. Will look into getting the kit to have on hand for when the day comes
