Would anyone be willing to take a look at my fj60. I think the timing or the carb setting are off. I would gladly pay you for your time.

So I said screw it and took it to a good shop I know of. The guy told me the mixture was way to lean. But he did say the THC was the issue. He showed me the fuel window and how it barely has any in the window. Told me they would have to open up the carb and fix the floats or something like that. They would have to order gaskets as well. He made it out like they would have to rebuild the thing. Said my timing was good. It's running a lot better that he messed with the mixture but I also now idle at 900rpms...

Oh he also said the thing that squirts the fuel is weak that's why it hesitates a little. I'm no gear head so forgot the name. I know I sound like a idiot haha.

You're not alone..........I am quite mechanically challenged beyond changing my own oil and wiper blades!
It's the accelerator pump.

@dustin weaver - glad you found someone to help you NOW, but - in the future, when you can afford to wait just a few days - we can help you. @dbenke is an awesome mechanic, @Yardboy @CharlestonG8R and others are as well.
Don't let me or @Beau Diddly under your truck; we'll just take a nap while the rest of the guys wrench. Unless we have food, then we'lol eat while under your truck.
I can't speak for @JToobe - but with his manicure, I'd be hesitant to believe he changes his own wiper blades - Autozone does that for no additional charge.

Well, I'm knocking the door on that rule when it comes to 80's power steering pump, power windows, and power seats. Now that you're in the 80s club, don't come to me when you have an issue with the above, or I will say, "NO soup for you 
!!" One day, one of these days, my seats will work, and I'll be know as the man with the big wrench.

I needed it running for this Sunday going to take the wife and daughter to Festival of Lights in the cruiser so was being impatient. 900-1000 idle has me little worried though.
This is the first time that I've ever heard of a Trollhole Carb not working properly. Not saying it can't happen, it's a mechanical part, and there's a first for everything! Did Trollhole send you a manual for the carb? There should be several adjustment screws for the idle speed. Also, is the shop aware that this is not a stock carburetor? I ask because I'm not sure where he is planning to obtain new gaskets - unless Marshall happens to have extras up in Greenville... You've piqued my interest sir, I'm curious what the culprit is.
MOST of the time, you can pull the top off of the carb w/out damaging the gasket.

When I first got back into wrenching, I was apprehensive about tearing into my Weber carb, but with help form mud, I've taken it off and put it back on more times than some people change their skivvies (that's underwear for you non-military folks) during the winter months.
One weekend I removed that carb and adjusted the float bowl level so many times that I could have charged for inappropriate touching.
*And I didn't replace the papergasket everytime I did it either.
The good news is : you got it running to take the kids to Festival of Lights, right? Feel free to join us early on SUNDAY..... in Mt Pleasant, after FOL.

They did know it was a after market brand new. Also the guy that installed it for me required me to get two gaskets for it. I messaged Marshall he told me the carb doesn't have to have the gaskets. But the guy that installed it wouldn't do it without them so I ordered them from SOR. http://i64.tinypic.com/303k45j.
