After my wife has been looking and test driving stuff the last few months, I think we’re pivoting towards an Armada pro-4x. We’ll grab a 2025 if we get a killer deal, but I’m hoping to drag it out until the 2027s come along so we can snag a 2026 in the fall/winter.

A dealer near us has 2 2025 pro-4x premiums on the lot stickering at 81. Their final offer 3 weeks ago to us was 70k. I called back Monday and asked if they’d take 70 including all their fees (close to an grand) and an extended warranty. If I don’t hear back Friday, I’ll chirp at them again. My guess is they are going to be more and more desperate to dump the 2025s, with the 2026s already discounted to the mid-low 70s.

Big perks we saw with this is we aren’t at a much higher price point than a low mileage LX, and with an extended warranty we don’t have to worry about anything for 8 years. The interior is also a good bit larger with the car-seat tilting seats.

Just couldn’t like the new sequoia no matter how much we tried.
If you have 3 kids and need a 3row vehicle, the Armada is very appealing IF:

1 - You buy and stick with it for the next 10 years. No trade-ins in 2/3 years, otherwise you will lose a s...ton of money. No matter how much discount you get now on a 2025 model. Nissans depreciate like LRs.

2 - You are ok trading solid build, reliability and low depreciation for interior space.

3 - You don't care much for looks - though subjective, the Armada design is a tough pill to swallow, IMO.

4 - And, finally, the most offroad you do is levelled gravel roads or beach cottages.

For #2 the new patrol based armadas are solid and reliable. I don’t think there is a meaningful difference between it and a 200. And having the extended warranty and a NEW vehicle I’d argue a new armada will have a longer reliable life then almost any used 200.

#4 bone stock vs bone stock off road ability and armada can do easily 90% of what a 200. And the armada can do approaching 100% of the off-roading 99.9% of 200 owners do including those with fully built out rigs.

Solid choice. The new Armada looks pretty darn good on paper. Built at the Patrol factory in Japan, not Mississippi, real diff locker available if you decide to go offroading, and very good "big SUV" packaging/design. I agree with @MRego, depreciation is going to be a bitch compared to anything Toyota.

We are 8-10+ year car people. I have a 10 year old JKU and a 21 year old Mustang GT. My wife is in a 7 year old ram 1500 that’ll become mine until it dies.

Reliability is a concern of mine. Even Toyota seems to have screwed up the new Sequoias. Expedition is probably the next best thing and it’s not really an offroad car at all.

The videos I’ve seen of the pro-4x seem to suggest it’s pretty capable. Only real offroad worthiness we realistically need is in soft sand at the beach. We also have a handful of dirt roads we regularly use but that’s really just where suspension comfort is nice to have. Anything will go down them.

IDK. Last year, when contemplating trading my 200 for the LX700OT (which I ended up doing) I sat in a PRO 4X and honestly did not feel the same vault-built construction I felt in my 200 and that I feel in the 300. To me, it all looked a plasticky-screens galore that affects probably 98% of the cars sold today. Might as well go for the Expedition Tremor with the tail gate and maybe a bit more room.

On the off-road front, the OP seems to only need beach-sand capabilities to reach his cottage, so 200, Armada or Expedition all should do fine. I agree with you that the Armada would do 90% of what a 200 would. It is just too big and that ginormous wheelbase kills any breakover angles. Last year I took my 200 to Big Bend and did Black Gap trail. The Armada would do almost everything there, except the actual gap - which my 200 did without any hiccups.

I am spoiled and biased since I am blown out of the water by the LXOT. It is an amazing car and a great evolution of the 200. Happy that I do not need a third row for kids or anything - so I bought the 2row version. The LX in hybrid form is simply NOT a 3row SUV, no matter how much Lexus tries to convince people.

I think the ~10” longer is an advantage to what the OP wants. And I agree with you that the LX OT is another level of luxury compared to the armada, my local dealer has been begging me to buy a new LX, so far I’ve had a LX600, 700 OT, and GX550 out on demo.

Another thing to consider is the LXOT is ~50% (at least $40k) more expensive than an armada 4xpro.

Welp — might be a while before I get an LC. We just bought my wife a new pro-4x. 68,500 before taxes and fees for a leftover 2025. Msrp is about 82. Fees like a “deal” in the current market

Garage is a mess right now. Redoing it is a spring project.
