Hi All,

I'm moving to Irvine in another month or so and have a few questions...

Who/where are the best local Cruiser shops/mechanics?

Any other good general 4x4 shops? How are the local 4WheelParts stores?

Will be living in Irvine, and won't have a dedicated place to park my Cruiser (too tall for any of the condo/apartment garages). What are other folks doing? Car/boat storage places to recommend?

Matt

Welcome to So Cal! I can't answer your questions other than a potential mechanic in Orange County may be found here:

Laguna Viejo Auto Service in Laguna hills on Cabot between Crown Valley and Oso parkway. I haven't used them personally but fellow SoCal 80s members have used them and highly reccomend them. The owner drives and 80 and as I understand it there are multiple Cruiser fans that work there making it sort of thier specialty. Good luck.

If you have a chance, stop by the So Cal TLCA meeting sometime and I am sure that someone at the meeting could probably answer your questions. See my sig line for a link to the website with our meeting information...

Chris - that had been my recommendation for the shop, but after a horrible experience myself and one by a coworker with another cruiser, I WITHDRAW my recommendation and would run far away from them.

Locally, Eric at Yotamasters in Corona and John at SD Trux down in San Diego are my two preferred shops. John did a more than masterful job on my HG rebuild.

Any storage recommendations? Not going to be able to keep my Cruiser at my place there...

Good luck with this one. Just try local storage unit places or RV/Boat storage yards. Most are jam packed and space/land is at a premium in and around Irvine to begin with.
