My wife and I purchased a 2018 LC a few months ago and couldn’t be happier with it, other than the A/C fan control🙄. First, I wanted to post to say thank you to this community for helping ease her anxiety about purchasing such an expensive vehicle. I would read her comments from various threads during the purchasing process that gave her all the confirmation she needed that it was a quality vehicle. I also wanted to say that I’m a car enthusiast that really appreciates quality, reliability, and uniqueness, so when she said how much she loved LC’s after the ‘16 redesign a few years ago, I had a feeling we would eventually own one. We’ve now had it since March, and a word of caution I would give to husbands buying their wives LC’s is don’t ever get on this forum after the fact or you will probably end up with two of them. My wife could really care less about mods so the only “logical conclusion” is to find another 200 and after seeing chrisleduc1’s 570 build, I have all the inspiration I need until we pay hers off. The only thing we’ve done to her LC is change the tires. We had a nail in the sidewall with 36k miles on the originals and it gave all the reason I needed to put fresh A/T’s on Bridgestone Revo 3’s(285/65/18, no rubbing, stock). Sorry for this basic long run on, but I mostly wanted to say thank you to the forum. I’ve enjoyed reading a lot of advice and watching a bunch of normal people builds.

Nice! Now consider developing a strategy for preventing a tech from breaking your recirculate door when they inspect the cabin filter every visit. Some people lock the glove box and keep the key blade with them, beyond putting a huge label on the access door.

Either way, congrats.. a 16+ LandCruiser is literally the only vehicle I could see trading my 13 in on.

I have never considered that before but will definitely consider it now, thanks for the heads up!

Welcome, congrats on the LC purchase sounds like you have yourself a good woman with good taste  word of caution be careful where you venture in this forum like a lot of us you could end up with multiple cruisers and an addiction. It certainly is the best forum for Land Cruiser enthusiasts lots of great knowledge here and these folks can help you spend money improving an already very capable platform.

Good stuff. Congrats. Just joined the 200 owner party Friday too. Came w/ Nexen Roadian HPs (285/60/18) that perform great and have good road feel but seem a tad loud to me. Plus I want to upsize sidewall height slightly.

Question - how are the Revo 3s doing (vs previous)? Previous tire & size? (is 285/60/18 2018 OEM?)
  • MPG ?
  • Road noise ?
  • Speedometer reading slower than actual ? (if indeed upsized tires slightly?)
Would love to see before and afters if you have it. Looking hard at those exact size Revos you have.

Again, congrats.

We’ve only had the tires on for a few weeks but so far there hasn’t been any noticeable change in mpg or speedometer, the ride is still smooth and I would say they have very minimal road noise compared to stock. I would consider it zero road noise but my wife says she can hear them on the highway, so I’ll call it very minimal. I haven’t taken any pics other than the one in my profile from the day we picked it up, I’ll try to get a few this afternoon when I get off work. And yes, previous tires were OEM 285/60/18.

Note that 285/65/18s will most likely be LT metric and probably E rated. They need more pressure than stock p285/60/18s.. sometimes tire shops don’t get this across to people upgrading.

Here’s what it looks like with the Revo 3’s

Sorry to attempt to awaken this thread from dead.... However, has your impression changed with these tires? Noise, MPG, performance, wear, any other issues come up? I like this option compared to KO2 due to weight and looks, but want to make sure it's aligned with my other goals. Sweet looking truck! Bottom line, would you buy again?

I will absolutely buy them again, for these being more on what I would call the “basic” side of A/Ts. We had zero issues with them and it’s my wife’s vehicle so we’ve only put 20k miles on them over the last couple of years. I can hardly tell any wear thus far and with what little there may be all 4 tires seem to be wearing very evenly. I think I mentioned in a previous that my wife noticed the noise difference, I would say I can feel the difference(it’s a GOOD feeling in my opinion) more than I can hear it, almost no road noise difference compared to stock as far as I’m concerned. MPG is almost all city driving and we average 15.6 according to our digital readout and I would say I’m heavier on the gas pedal than most people. Our MPH I’ve self tested with a gps and at 40mph on the LC while the gps read 41mph, at 75mph on the LC the gps read 77mph so very little difference testing it that way, I’m sure there are better, more accurate ways but that’s all I really had available to me. I think I may of mentioned previously that my wife commented on the noise the first day after we got the tires and said she could hear them but she hasn’t said a word since, she has come to love her tires and comments on them every couple of months for whatever that’s worth. She definitely prefers A/Ts over the factory road tires so we will be buying another set of these whenever the time comes.

Huge thanks for the solid review. This is very helpful, and you went into much more detail than I had hoped. Looks like I'll be shopping for the same tires.
