Hi guys,

I created a thread for my new FJ40 project and a few of you chimed in and told me about the group and meetup's at Mikes BBQ (which is pretty close to my house). I just moved to the Escondido area about 3 weeks ago, and the family and I are still getting settled in. I'll miss this month's meetup due to a work trip, but I'd be interested in meeting up, especially if anyone has a 73/74 40. I am currently working on getting a good sized shop built on my property and would love to host a meetup when it's done.

Welcome to the dido area. We look forward to having you at the meeting in November. I have 1972 40 project I am working on with my dad. We another member whom has a few different 40's and working on those as well. Which end of Esco are you building at?

Not sure if @Cruiser Bauers is referencing me, but we chatted in your other thread... I just got back from doing some work on my '72 FJ40 so it's fresh in mind. Hope to meet you at the next meeting you can make!

I'm off of Bernardo Rd, right behind Felicita Park. I have a Escondido address but I'm finding out I'm likely in unincorporated SD County.

I have a 100 series which is my DD that I was going to build up, but now that I have the FJ40 illI focus on it. My last 40 I did a 5.3L LM7 vortec swap and loved it, but no idea what I want to do with this one, other than ditch the 3spd asap.

I'll likely miss the November meeting, I had a last minute business trip pop up that week, but I thought IdI introduce myself and if you guys have something else going on I'd be interested. I think I need to come see @BreckenridgeCruiser 40 sometime

We'll get you to a meeting soon enough. If it motivates you, Mike's has some of the best BBQ in the area.

I'll be working on the 44 this week and will be doing some part hunting for the 40 over the next few weeks. The 40 is still in CO, but we hung the engine a week ago. Teaser photos attached...

That looks so amazing... I'm jealous!

Welcome!

where did you move here from? normally i'd say relocating your whole family to join a landcruiser club would be extreme. But, B'nT' is pretty cool so in this case I understand.

We moved down from Riverside, we lived in Seattle before that. Wife and I got in a position where we had horrible commutes and it was killing us. I convinced her to quit her job at Boeing and come work at Northrop Grumman where I work. We both work in Rancho Bernardo now. Went from 160mile a day roundtrip drive to 14.

Wow...my commute is just as bad...14 miles!!!
