Howdy CottonLand crew,

I guess it's time to quit lurking and actually announce my presence.

My name is Jordan, and I moved to Memphis late August for grad school and work. I'm in a master's program at the University of Memphis / Memphis State / Tiger High / whatever it's called... I work in a manufacturing facility in Southaven, MS, where we manufacture electrical components. Thomas&Betts is located right off of I-55 about 1/4 mile off Stateline. I'm an engineering "intern", so I run around and do everything from quality control, machine automation and troubleshooting, to fixture/jig drawing and design, and purchasing. It's been a great experience. I really enjoy my job, though school is... well... school

I guess I need to establish some street cred early in the game, so I'll drop a name that'll give me a couple stars worth. I consider Daryl to be a friend of mine; whether or not he'll claim me is up in the air . I've wheeled with him for the past couple years or so. Talk about a stand-up guy. I've also had the joy of getting to know John Bomar through Daryl as well the past year or so.

You may have seen my hooptie self-destruct this past weekend at SCC  I have an '85 4Runner I built over the past 4 years or so (though it feels like forever...). I did almost all the work myself. It's been a steep learning curve, as this is my first rodeo. Do things different? Sure, but it's been a great experience thus far.

I was born and reared by two great parents in the great city of Hot Springs, Arkansas. You're probably thinking, "Must be nice to be from the same city as Superlift." Thankfully I don't have enough time (or money) to spend a lot of time at the park.

I graduated from the University of Arkansas (don't hold it against me...) with a BS in Agricultural Systems Technology Management this past May.

I live about 5 minutes walking from UofM in a small house with a roommate.

So now that I've put out my whole life story, I'd like to say thanks for your hospitality this past weekend. I wish I had taken more time to meet more of you guys. I was busy fixing my junk on Friday and then breaking it on Saturday.

I'm pretty busy with school and work, but I'd enjoy meeting or helping you guys. My junk is 3.5 hours away, so withdrawal is bound to happen.

Happy trails!

Jordan

I met Cameron as he was leaving on Saturday. Nice guy. Hopefully I'll be able to meet up with him.

I'm not sure. I work off Hamilton Rd. I guess that's the Tyessen Crump building? I'm not sure...

I've been meaning to call you for the past month and a half. I'll make that happen.

BTW, I can't stop saying "Hide ya kids, hide ya wife..." even if is just to myself under my breath... Holy cow...

You have no idea how close you are with this one...:flipoff2::lol:

If it wasn't for his seroiusly hot fiance I'd be worried 'bout the boy(still not sure she isn't an actress/model hired to play the part).

Seriously, Jordan is a great guy and he will fit right in with this eclectic assemblage of wheelin' virtuosity.:hillbilly:

Awesome...nice to meet you Jordan. I am Mark...you probably saw my short arse at the crawl with my 80 - the white one...wait...that doesn't help. The white one with the INTI rack and limb risers.

I live downtown Memphis...give me a shout or shoot me a PM and we can get together for a cold beer. Your fiance is safe...I'm married to a hot chick already!

Ruh roh... Daryl found me...

I got a heads up that you had posted in here. Something about calling me a gay... And I'm not surprised. Is that all you got? :flipoff2:

I'll let Anna read this. She'll be flattered. And yes, I do pay her to put on a front. Thanks for outing me on that one...

Mark, thanks! I'll shoot you a PM with some info.

Welcome! I work down the street from you at the fire station at stateline and 51 hwy.

Man, small world! See ya on the street! I drive a silver Ext Cab TRD Taco.

I'll be there in a month or two, whenever the hell my company decides to move me. Since we're new we may as well tear up the town (or get shot by a local) and have some fun. I'll let you know when I'm in the area, and I'd be happy to help you with your rig if ya want. Until then, cheers!

Shoot me a PM if you'd like to kick it. I'll be a terrible tour guide, but I'm decent company.

Rig's in Hot Springs, and it'll probably be there until I graduate. At least it's wheelable now

welcome. don't be a stranger no mo!

Yessuh! I'll do my best to give my time ;)

Don't feel bad, my rig is in Michigan and will probably stay there for quite a while. We can meet up & share a bottle of whiskey. We'll drink to our trucks, share stories, and plan what we're going to do when we have them back!

You two need to track down the moseley brothers..... they can teach you all you need to know about living in Memphis.... Like how to set s*** on fire, how to fish in a ditch, where to drop a dead hooker's body, where to get crack laced tater salad, etc...

I for one wish I knew less about how true this is. :shakeinghead:
