Hello,

Got my first FJ80! I didn't wait to find one with lockers and I know it needs work but I'm still happy. I took it out some rough rutted roads to my place this weekend but nothing too serious until I get it all smoked over.

I tried to attach some pics. Think it needs an Axle job????

That north Alabama mud keeps the oil from leaking out of the oil pan. Now to get some North Georgia Mud on it.

Don't ask me why I owned a P-38 Range Rover but its gone back to Atlanta now and I broke even on this beautiful to me Cruiser. It came with a near new set of Coopers.

Motor runs strong and I like the feel of the 1FZ-FE. The vehicle has 201,000 miles on it.

Look forward to reading more here.

It could be a million miles or next red light.

Not a million miles. Definitely somewhere in between and much, much closer to the next red light than to a million miles.

well they aren't clicking - yet.

I am organizing a Axle Rebuild party" from some of the LC owners in Central Florida.

Hope to get to it in the next couple of weeks.

If you cant service it right away pump the knuckles full of moly through the service plug on top of the knuckle. Also it wouldn't hurt to change your differential oil to see the level of contamination.

Welcome.
Where's the pics of your new ride? We want to see the truck.
Have fun on the axle rebuild. I did mine last summer, and will be redoing it again this spring. This time around, I'll be replacing the birfs. I should've replaced the birfs before but took a gamble. Mine has been clicking eversince I bought it a couple years ago.

Mine doesn't click yet. Or does it. I heard a click , click, click once when I turned it to park on a slope. That was the only time it made a sound so far. I've put about 300 miles on it and it will not be a daily driver until I get it repaired. Think I'll plan on Birfs. How much does the job cost in parts from Cruiser Dan?

Now I need another payday or three and a lot of study on the rebuild sticky.
I sure don't want it down for a long time and put back together wrong.

Heres a couple of pics.

The jump seats I got with the FJ go to a newer model 100 series I think and are grey. Hopefully, the seller will find the right ones to trade out. There is a small dent in the tailgate that also broke the Landcruiser plate in the middle. I used the same photographic privilage the seller did to omit this fact before showing. I'm catching ooooon...

LispeeJ,

How long did it take you to do the job? Did you think it was easy, tough or oh damn I shoudn't of taken it apart hard? Considering the thread is 50 pages to print, I was getting worried.

Looks just like mine...... except mine has lockers;p

Nice rig.

Lois - ahhh. I'm not too far from you. I've worked down at the CMP some in the past. It takes me around and 1 1/2 to get there. This one came from Huntsville.
