Hi all!
I'm Jonathan and I live and work in and around Grants Pass, OR. Back in January, I traded in my 2010 Jeep JK for a used 2007 FJ Cruiser and have to say it has been the best purchase I've ever made.

I'm planning on some mods to it as time/money permit, starting with an upgrade to the front bumper to include a winch. I keep going back and forth on the issue of a lift-kit and upgrade to 33" tires - mainly since my FJ is also my daily driver.

A while back I subscribed to Overland Journal and really like the rack-top tents and awnings, but not sure if I want to give up the storage/carrying capacity the factory rack provides.

I just submitted my application to the group and hope to join in for a trail run in the not too distant future, not sure if I'll be able to attend McGrew in July, due to work, but it's definitely on my priority list. (I'd really like to see is the stock capabilities of the FJC on the trail, since watching a video of a stock model take on the Rubicon)

If anyone else is in/around Josephine County, shoot me an email and let's get together for a drive! I can be reached at jhbrock911@gmail.com.

Thanks!

Welcome Jonathan!

I responded to your email. :). We will definitely have some opportunities to wheel even if McGrew doesn't work out for you.

MetalTech makes some sweet armor for the FJC, they are in Portland/Newberg if you don't already know and are GREAT people and SWEET products.

 look forward to meeting ya.

Mods.......:hhmm:....hmmm..... there's that word again. mods, someone want to define that for me?? :p

Nice FJ man! Check the rear bumper for hidden mud.

Hi guys,
To answer moby first, I'd define mods as spending money that should be going into my retirement on perceived vehicular necessities... :D

Sweet, it has the locking rear diff straight from the factory along with the A-TRAC system, but nothing aftermarket on the drive-train (yet...)

Welome! I'm here in GP too and the one you want to find for the club transactions as Ty emailed you.

Hi Kief - thanks, I've actually been pretty conservative with it so far, just because it is so pretty... with the Jeep I had it scratched to hell within the first month, seemed like the scratches made it prettier. I'm sure I'll get a scratch or ding in the next month or two and after that it'll be 'game on!' ;)

Hi Jerod - I can completely understand that policy... serves me right for primarily for shopping at Lithia Grants Pass - worst experience of my life, but was on a Jeep kick since we had just purchased 2 of them on a grant for Search & Rescue here in JoCo... at least I came to my senses eventually, right? :)

Hi Garett - just paid my dues using the Google Check-out that Ty emailed me about, but would still like to meet up with other members of the group if you're interested... maybe next weekend for a drive up into the woods for a photo expedition or something similar? Maybe a tour of the Jefferson State Scenic Byway, CJ to Yreka?

Thanks for the welcome and comments to all!

Might be able to swing that little trip :). Fireroads? Just scenic?

Probably have this Sunday free for some wheeling and shooting if we got interest.
