I got it home and with your help fixed the broken air bleeder screw. If blows lots of white smoke on startup and some white smoke when idling. I would like to adjust the full injection pump for higher altitude. I am at 7700 feet and presume it was set for sea level. For the life of me, I cannot see this screw and lock nut. Is it underneath a cap and I have to remove a cap on the engine to see it?

thanks
Keith

Sweet little ute.. can you post a few good photos of your injection pump, its very unlikely to have a HAC on it (but it might!)... either way the only (easy) adjustment possible is going to be max fuel at Wide Open Throttle.. I believe anything else will require the pump to opened up.

The high altitude will rather cause black smoke because of less oxygen in the air. Raw unburnt diesel will be white.
But I'm a sea level person - great looking 45 !

Thought I might get someone from Oz that knew. My wife is Tasmanian so she likes the ute.
Here is a pic of the page in the manual referring to altitude compensation.

Interesting.. looks like there's some variations on the H Pumps over the years.. I just checked the one I have here and its the same as yours - much more like a 2H pump than the pump you've shown in that manual.

Which manual is that.. the "H" manual I have a soft copy of does not have a "General 0-4" page.

Any idea of the origin of your ute, is it RHD? We dont really have mountains Australia - I wonder if there was an pump specific to this region.

Incidentally.. the process they describe in your pictured page is not a real altitude compensation in my opinion.
