New (to me) 100 series

Since my 80 series departed, I was on the look out to find another Land Cruiser. After checking out several, I picked up this 2004 LX 470 in Blue Vapor Metallic. It has 85k miles and all documented dealer maintenance, including the 90k service!

It will need new tires soon and am leaning towards Goodyear Silent Armor 275/65/18.

Also going to buy Metal Tech sliders during their Cyber Monday sale. If anyone in the DC area is looking to buy anything from MetalTech hit me up so we can save on shipping! I posted a thread about it here .

Also thinking about getting a set of Weathertech floor liners but I'm debating between tan or black.

Anyhow, enjoy the photos of my stock 100. The automatic height control seems to be within specs from what I've read.

Congrats! The Pacific Blue Metallic actually looks pretty good once built. And you never see them. Great coice on the Weathertechs and with a tan interior I would vote for Tan mats. They don't match but the offset is significant enough that its actually pleasant. Tan will look clean longer than black too.

Agreed. Girlie or not, that color is awesome! I'd go with tan mats, as well. Or a different kind of mat. My Weathertechs are mediocre.

I just bought the silent armors again in that size. First set went 40k+ you won't regret it!

I have black weathertechs in my tan interior and i love them. they go well with my black and tan two tone wet okole seat covers. if i didnt have seat covers... i might side with the rest of these "tan" voters, but with my setup i wouldnt have it any other way. i have general grabber at2 275/65/18 and i love them. size fits great on a stock rig and the grabber at2 is an awesome tire. even with my stock suspension i couldve (and therefor shouldve) gone bigger. next set will be bigger. question is which flavor. 275/70/18, 285/65/18. or a lift with 295's

Sorry I didn't respond earlier, missed that ? I have the liners in gray. They match well, and basically keep all the crud contained, but because the are molded plastic the fitment isn't perfect. Especially on the pax side where it can slide around. I preferred the heavier rubber mats (husky, maybe?) I had in my last truck. They were flexible and heavy enough that they conformed to the floor and stay put. They'll do, but I've had better mats.

My truck is in California right now. And I'm on Maui for the next couple months. So while I know you wanted weathertech interior shots (and i should clarify, my weathertechs are NOT digifit), I only have the snowy pose in my 275/65/18's and my whimpy "trails." I can get some pictures this week. My mom knows I have a strange relationship with my car and she will understand the request for interior pictures.

I bought some peripherals for off-road prepardness. My objective was portability and usefulness. Gloves shown for size reference.

Hi-Lift Jack HA-500 Handle-All Multi-Purpose Tool $119

Full size steel shovel, sledge hammer, axe, and pick axe heads with a detachable 2-piece aluminum handle plus storage bag. Great portability and toughness. The heads stay secured to the handle by aligning the holes and sliding a pin through them. The pin stays secured by a ring you loop through the holes at the end of the pin but the included rings seem a bit flimsy. I'm going to replace the rings with more durable keychain rings.

Adds 15PSI in 3 mins on 33" tires (45% duty cycle @ 100PSI). 8' jumper cord and 12' air hose. 10"x3"x6", weighs 5 lbs.

Was also considering the TJM air compressor but decided to go with this smaller unit.

18"x11"x4" and 21 lbs. Heard very good feedback on this particular model. I like the fact that you can always keep it plugged in and not worry about overcharging it.

I wasn't aware of the difference between a tow strap and snatch strap until I read up on recovery straps. Went with the snatch.

Goodyear Silent Armor P275/65/18

Replaced all stock tires including the spare with Goodyear Silent Armor all-terrain 275/65/18 for $1200 mounted. I bought the P-rated model and not LT E-rated SilentArmor. The Cruiser is a primarily a daily driver so I wanted to go with the softer and lighter weight tire.

Too new to provide any real feedback but they do roll smooth and are quiet. The speedometer still reads accurate at 60mph according to my GPS.

BTW there are a lot more tire options available at 275/65/18 compared to stock 275/60/18.
