Hey ya'll I just picked up a 2003 LC last week and wanted to learn all about it, so I had to sign up and be part of this community!

I have already learned a TON of stuff, but have tons more searching to do before I start asking questions

Here's the long & short of it:

I live 1/2 the year in So Cal and 1/2 in Montana, so it will be seeing alot of ranch type duties and mostly stay up there.

it is bone stock, and I want to put the biggest tires on the stock rims without a lift and a nice front winch bumper on it as well as an intake/exhaust.

I would also like to hook up a Video iPod to the Nav System

so any suggestions would be great!

THANKS!

First of all welcome!

Second of all, you can fit 33" equivalent tires on the stock suspension usually without rubbing.

Third of all, you will want to upgrade the suspension to handle the weight of the winch and bumper. The stock torsion bars will be overmatched by the additional weight. If you tow or carry loads you will be glad for the higher spring rate.

The best news if the cost of upgrading your front torsion bars, rear springs, and shocks is very reasonable.

If you don't lift it, I love my 285's on stock. I plan on Billies and/or a lift eventually. I would think you at least need to upgrade your shocks if you toss on a hefty bumper.

Welcome!

best year! :D

BMWSTOY,

So your vehichle is stock except for the tires, basically?

In your experience, what sort of penalty in gas mileage do you pay with the 285s?

Thanks.

Wow 33's on it stock huh? that's cool

I think I am not going to go with a crazy big bumper, something like the the TJM T17

& I have a buddy at Bilstein, so That will be covered too. so I will just see what happens if I crank up the stock T bars

So are their any other options for exhaust except for the Borla?

Jeff,

A little lift from the stock t-bars and some stiffer shocks sounds good with a lighter bumper/winch set-up. Winches with synthetic line are nice and light too.

Tell your buddy that we need some 5100's or better for our Land Cruisers, not just the HD line shocks.

Not sure about the off the shelf exhaust, but you can't go wrong with a custom exhaust from the right shop.

Good luck and enjoy your truck.

I think I am going have they guy who built the exhaust on my Lightning pick up do a custom exhaust with some Bassani Mufflers & tips next month.

first I am going to do the tires & shocks.
