I'm new to LandCruisers. My wife and I just bought an 85 yesterday with 115,000 miles. Its really nice and clean, but theres a couple of things I would like to do to it.

It will be my wife's daily driver and our occasional camping rig, so we don't want to go extreme. I would like to lift it, however, since it sits at stock height and looks pretty "grandma." We own two Early Bronco's and are fairly active in the Bronco community. As far as lifting goes, there are a lot of options for the Bronco's. I'm not finding much for the 60 series Cruisers. I've seen the OME lifts, but would like to see all the options before we jump.

Any help from you guys? We're looking at around 2-3" of lift.

Thanks - Ben

Well sorry to say there aren't many. BDS suspension just quit making them. Ironman suspension is not importing to the US, most go either OME or Alcan custom springs for a lift. Some add a leaf to the stock pack, some just add shackles, but in my opinion the absolute best prepackaged kit for SUA lifts is OME. Use the search function, it is your best friend, a wealth of info, and welcome! Now show us some pics

Cool Cruisers of Texas has a Kit - Hell for Stout

and Man a Fre has a kit as well.

neither are the OME. Some don't like the Man-a-fre's (safari) but i have the springs, at least, and I like them. Check my sig for the link to my 83 FJ60 if you want to see pics.

Some folks don't care for OME or now known as Dakar, because they are made in Indonesia, or is that Malasia? anyway cheap!

Thanks for the replies. So not many options.

OME, Man-A-Fre, Cool Cruisers, and Hellcreek suspensions.

I'll get some pics up some time. I haven't even taken any shots yet. Don't know if I need to get 10 posts up here before I can post pics or not. I'll figure it out soon enough.

Did Hell Creek ever get production started? I called around X-Mas and he was working on the prototype

I just sent Hell's Creek an email asking the same thing. THey don't have the 60 series listed but maybe they're working on it. One of my buddies here just installed that kit on his 1967 FJ 40 and it looks stout.

Here are a few pics of the Cruiser. They're not the best, but you get the idea. Pretty clean for an '85.

Here's a link to the Cruiser as well on Flickr. The guy we bought it from put these up.

yup, nice and clean.

I have a BDS, it rides nice to me. I did not know they stopped making them. Try a few shops to see if there is any more stock.

I called and called, no luck on BDS, I even had BDS track the last ones sold and then called them, SOL on BDS

BTB Products also makes a kit for the 60. Never heard much about them, but you could certainly take a look.

When did he say it would be ready? He was hoping for Feb before

Talked with HellCreek a few weeks ago - said it was still in the prototype stages... He'll get back with me when it's ready.
