Just got my Cruiser back Friday with the new seats. Completely new all-vinyl--budget wouldn't afford leather--light gray where the fabric used to be and almost perfect match on the dark sides and back. I'm thinking of having the guy replace the fabric on the door panels with the same light gray vinyl.

Wow! Those look, dare I say, supportive! In a landcruiser - who knew? For whatever reason, the second photo looks a bit blue on my monitor, but the first one I think shows what I assume is the true color. Sharp. Mind if I ask how much it set you back?

If you don't mind sharing, what is the ballpark cost of the vinyl? I've been eyeballing the leather but its going to be a loooong time before I have the spare coin for those...

New Seats

Well, the color is on one of the photos is pretty blue, but the other picture is about right. I'm thinking of having the fabric in the doors replaced to match the light colored vinyl.

I don't know what the going price is anywhere on upholstery. Labor costs for just about anything from lawnmower repair to fixing your computer costs at least $40/hr around here. This is a Mexican guy here in Lufkin who's been around for at least 20 years. He repaired the driver's seat in my old Jetta about 15 years ago and its still holding together. He charged me $480 to replace most of the old foam stuffing and recover all the seats completely.

I also ordered new carpet from Chester & Herrod. That's gonna run right at $500.

nice lookin seats. what was his quote on leather. maybe we could get a better deal if we offered him business as a group. i could definately travel to lufkin for the right price. i spent about 6 years in nacogdoches before moving to dallas.
