I got a Thule roof rack from another mud member(Monkeyboy), a few weeks ago. The great thing is how it all worked out. I just happened to be going to Seattle the week after he had posted it, to help some friends move and go to a graduation, as well as take a little camping trip in the San Juans.I know The Big Man upstairs was looking out for me with the scheduling.
Any way so we got them (my friends) moved and all that.
I think I'm gonna like the rack. It seems pretty lite so I'm not to worried about my gutters as they're in good shape anyway. I did take the chrome off to keep them rust free though. I got a few goodies with the rack too like ski racks and a Sherpa water proof gear bag. Pretty god deal for 500 clamshells. I'll probably put my shovel back up there and maybe my handyman.
I mounted the rack under the bars with u-bolts a got from the local hardware store to keep it as low as possible. I still got about an 1-1/4" between the roof and the rack so I think I'll be ok on flexing as long as I don't use it to transport my pet elephant. I don't think she'd like it up there anyway......

Before with old roof bars.
