Hello, I have 78 fj40with new alum tub, up is done, now looking for help in locating best vendor to help with lower end rebuild.. v8 /trans supports, lift kit, body lift, rear axel rebuild kit, rear axel disc, locker, front axel rebuild, steering joints, chevy power steering conv., shackel reversal, and any other frame down help for now thanks

any help starting would be fine. already built 383 stroker,700r4, and xfer need to buy other parts..

i think if you are spending that kind of money i would deffinately go with an OME lift. don't have one but from what i hear they are awesome. what size tires are you going with where you need a body lift? couldn't you go with a 4 inch suspension and 2 1/2 shackle? which would give you 5 1/4 lift.

located in maine, 4 in lift 1/2 in body trying to put tranny plate rather than hump. no leg room. no shackles want 35 rubber. doing 4 point in rear with locker, 411 gears with 5 gear converter lockup
need to hold hole shot then cruisen speed will be fine. my wife also works at toyota but they only carry stock... so I need aftermarket places that wont break bank.. dont mind paying, but only want/ have time to do once. would rather be cruisen

Here are my recommendations

v8 /trans supports - Advanced Adaptors
Lift kit - OME from Cruiser Outfitters
Body lift - Man A Fre
Rear axle rebuild kit - Same place you get the locker
Rear axle disc - Poser
Locker - Buy local, they are all about the same price, why pay shipping.
front axle rebuild - Marlin Crawler and get the HD seals
steering joints - Borg Warner/Flaming River from Advanced Adaptors
Chevy power steering conv - Advanced Adaptors
Shackel reversal - Ruff Stuff Specialties

great help Dan, also looking for chevy motor mounts to toyota frame. have seen, but forgot where!!! will be shopping and building. I will be asking for body hardwarehelp after. thanks don

Im back...morning brainfart. a new 4 in sus lift is usually rigid on short spring length. would a stock set of springs with a spring over give a more desirable ride??

would this be too much lift to have drivshaft angles maxed rolling back axle is easy but not so cheap for front

If you go SOA and do it right count on cutting and turning your front axle which will be extra $ plus shocks - also possibly new brake lines, modified driveshafts, etc. 35-37+ tires will fit nicely.
