Hey all,

We are looking at starting an awesome park located about 20 minutes outside of San Antonio, TX. I'm looking to see what kind of support is out there for this new adventure. We currently have 565 acres. We are looking at expanding an additional 312, which will give us more than 877 acres of fun. This is in the planning stage and could be open in the next 4 months if enough support is there. We will be looking for your input as far as the types of trails, obstacles and other amenities you would like. Design ideas would be appreciated as well. We are looking to hold a meeting for all those who might be interested in sharing in the design, and we will have an open house that will allow you to explore the area for the day. Please reply and let us know if this is something that interest you. Thanks, Beverly

Beverly,

More land to camp and wheel on is always a good thing. Please PM me here with any info you have available.

I am definitely interested. Please post details as they develop or PM/email me.

Sounds good!!!:)

I not sure what I could give in support for development, but I am sure willing to go and use it once its done.

Since the city of San Antonio basically killed off all the local wheeling for us, either by shutting us down with ridiculous ordinances, or development, we are always looking for new places to wheel.

I myself like remoteness. I dislike public restrooms, maintained campsites, etc. The more primitive the better for me. Then again I am more of an expedition style wheeler, so that might be my reasoning. I like to load my Cruiser up, and be totally self sufficient for the duration of my adventure.

Your idea of an off road 'park' is a good one. Like the others said here, I am sure everyone in Alamo City Land Cruisers, and other Land Cruiser clubs in Texas, will be in full support of your endeavor. Thanks.

please dont hesitate or think twice about this idea!!
its definatley a big leap, but one we desperately need. i, for one, love mud and joined up to tell you that i believe i not only speak for myself, but for the 254 and growing members of SAOffroad.com in saying that we will lend a helping hand to get this going.
san antonio is on lockdown and we need a place to burn off that 9-5.

there are countless people who travel to offroad parks all around the great state of texas without a second glance, you will have people from all over coming to ride a new trail. several clubs and organizations im sure will back you up and offer some help cutting new trails as well. youll likely have the full embrace of the entire offroad community!! dont let it get away!

oh and what side of town can i plan on driving to every weekend?

well said K5..we do need parks in SA...we love rocks, as big and ugly as possible .....if you need help don't hesitate to ask.... would like to know where and when.....L

i would love this
i have a Nissan Titan and an 82 Bronco
both are mostly stock
so a trail or 3 that can be driven by them would be awesome

Very cool! What ever information or assistance you require, let me know and I will inform our TTORA Central Region membership.

Did anything ever happen with this?

Well, I'm new to this site, and to the city, any trails that can be recommended? I would like to get in touch with a Local group of Land Cruiser owners to go off-roading and get familiar with some nice trails, I don't plan to take my vehicle to the extreme like "rock crawling", I'm more like the style of camping, respect the environment, just something medium - light. I'm looking for a family oriented group. (I work long hours, most of the time 6 days a week, my free time is limited and don't want to waste it trying to find spots by my own)

for clubs, check out the Clubhouse Corner here on 'MUD...most TX Toyota clubs have sections hosted here, or linked :)
