The new navigation map and Gracenote update became available today.
FYI, Gracenote is the music art that is displayed.
The Gracenote database can be updated without the navigation update by your local dealer.
If you update the map you must first update Gracenote.
I believe the map update is around $170.00 plus labor since it has to be performed at a dealership.

I keep my nav turned off and run a Garmin RV660LMT. This factory update is stupidly overpriced. I might consider it for $50, max.

Do you have a link to the complete TSB?

I wish Toyota would accept the fact that they will never build as good an infotainment system as Apple and Google. Toyota does not have programmers and UX designers of the same caliber.

I understand Toyota’s concern about giving Apple and Google access to user data, but they’ve lost the war. In the meantime, most of the other automakers support CarPlay and Android Auto and Toyota will begin losing sales as a result.

Anyone tried this for a cruiser with the latest entune system? Seems somewhat legit and current but still sketchy enough to give me pause. My 2016 does have the update option they refer to in the detailed instructions, and the software does appear to be garmin....

Can confirm that Apple Car Play is coming to Toyota beginning with the 2019 Avalon redesign. Saw it for myself at meetings late this summer. Toyota and Apple have finally come to agreements. Hopefully it will quickly make it to more models.

can anyone tell what the latest map version is the the 2018's? I checked the Toyota website and all it says is that there are no available updates.... I can't find anywhere what the most current map version is. tks.
