New Muffler and possibly new cat???? Help

I know I need a new Muffler as my current one I can almost see through.

What is the price of Toyota muffler and what after market mufflers are comperable or better and how do they compare price wise?

also my LC has been throwing code for one bank of cats. do any after market cats work to turn off the CEL light, and thus turn back on my trac and vcs????

Check to see if Toyota will replace it under warranty. Yes, you heard me right. In 2004 I had Toyota agree to replace the muffler on my (at the time) 1985 Toyota Corolla with 250,000kms on it. The reason they covered it is because the muffler is actually under lifetime warranty as it's stainless steel, and was designed to last the life of the vehicle. I was working sales for Toyota at the time, and after Toyota did that for me, I started mentioning that to all my clients - Toyota always honoured it!

What's the code for the CEL? It's more than likely an o2 sensor, unless you let that go forever and the fuel cooked the cat.

Truck Monkey i will get back to you tomrorrow with the codes. Any hope i am thankful for. I kinda thought it was an o2 sensor but it was a few months ago. truck going in the shop on tuesday and I will get the codes then. I know from seeing it on the lift this summer the muffler is like swiss cheese and i need a new one.

Sow what muffler do you guys recomend for me????

it all depends on what you are looking for. quiet like stock, a little extra rumble? Is the shop replacing all the tubing or just cutting out and welding in a new muffler?
