Hey guys, new member here, i just bought myself a 1994 FJ80, its lifted and got some other mods on it, nothing too crazy, i'll try and get some pictures on here soon! hope to learn a lot on this forum!

Welcome, 94s have been very popular this week. I belive 94 could be the best year at least for the transmission. It has a lower 1st gear & holds 16 qts of oil.

alright soon need so help lol

i was trying to figure out the whole 4x4 thing right.. well where is the lever suppose to be for the 4x4 while I'm just normal everyday driving? H-N-L? i know they mean High-Neutral-Low but I'm pretty sure it was in N before i moved it lol i know its a knewb questions but I'm learning!

thanks

Normal driving in H. Neutral will let your vehicle roll down a hill and crash into something. So don't leave it in there and not be in the car.

Low for when you are climbing out of a ditch

Hope my basic explanation works :)

Yes! That helped a lot! Lol I didn't know if the car was always in 4x4 mode or 2 then switch or something!

Welcome! :flipoff2: Mud Welcome, that is!

1994 is a great year...but then I'm a little biased!

Check out the FAQ here in the 80's section. It'll give you hours of reading, answer your question on normal driving, etc.

These beasts are full time 4WD. Use H for everyday driving. L will lock the center differential and put you in low range. If you've got what we refer to as the magic dial to the left of your steering column you've also got factory front and rear locking differentials. N on the short shift knob will put the differentials in neutral and you won't be going anywhere.

I believe all LC 80s are all time 4x4. I know mine is. If you see a yellow light that looks like a frame with 4 wheels on the dashboard while in H. You don't want to be on dry pavement or you will have bad things happen. That's the CDL light. CDL <- click for info

Hope this helps :). Welcome!

You rig is a all wheel drive. Just pick H for normal driving & L for going slow in dirt.

Thanks for all the help guys! I know it might of been a stupid question but I'll get there! Haha
