Hi All- just wanted to thank you up front for the great information in this forum. I'm sure I'll be here often. I am coming from a 99 4runner which to my dismay, did not have a good 4x system. Granted it was a stock SR5 and I could have modified it I guess, but it was so much easier to step up to a LC :) I'll do my AHC lift first and add some new rubber. Hopefully the Revo's come out with a larger sidewall for an 18!

Welcome! Enjoy the site!

I should probably fess up too. I've been lurking here since I go my 100 a couple of weeks ago. Usually hang out in the 40/55 sections. I've already purchaced a change holder, and cargo mat, and raised by spare tire up thanks you all.

Welcome crusrdug and welcome to the 100 world Dan. That 40 looks sweet!

Welcome!
I am new here as well…..I am still looking for my 100 (still have 4Runner) and I am not try to steal this thread but I am just curious what do you mean by: “4Runner did not have a good 4x system”? Did you had problems with it?

No Problems. The 4Runner didn't have the locking center diff or even the limited slip and I got stuck a few times. Really it was my mistake when I bought it. Live and learn!

Count me in too! I have been reading on this site for a long time. but I recently registered. I plan to be a little more active with the 100 since I inherited it from my wife. (her 99 lc was replaced with a lx470 that has all kinds off stuff for her and the kids, tv,dvd, navigation) So now we have a little overkill on the SUV'S. I have a few questions that were not covered in the FAQ but I will ask them elsewhere!

CrusrDug, nice LC. I like the color. I decided to keep my 4-Runner and add an ARB rear locker. Then bought a used 100 series as the daily driver. The Runner works great on the trails!

Yeah, I was wondering about the issue with a 4runner. It is definately a capable wheeler. Not a LC for sure, but a great DD and wheeler with a few mods.

I see.
I am not sure if you knew that when you bought your 4runner but a lot of 3-rd generation 4Runners did come with rear e-locker. And that made it very good off-road truck.
And with less weight then LC it is not much less capable off road vehicle.
Actually that is one thing that still stopping me from looking really hard for LC. Because I know that stuck LC will not go where I can go on my stuck 4Runner: mainly because ground clearance and weight that LC has.
