"Howdy Y'all", from Houston, TX. I am a new member here and just joined TLCA for the first time as well. I have been on cruizers.com for quite a while; however, I just never got around to checking out this website. I've been a Land Cruiser fan all my life and have owned several in the last decade. Currently I have the privilege of caring for four great Cruisers: (1) 1976 HJ-45; (2) 1984 BJ-42; (3) 1988 BJ-73; and (4) 1993 KZJ-70. I look forward to enjoying the forums here and picking up some great tips.

That's quite an odd collection of Cruisers to have in the US. Post some photos.

And welcome.

Some stories are best told over cold beers . . .

I'll get some pics up soon; however, I am still figuring out my digital camera and software.

Seeing as I can only drive one of the beasts at a time, which would you have me bring? LOL And where in the hell is Katemcy, TX? BTW, I just joined LSLC and am awaiting password info.

Cool! Welcom to the club! Our webmaster is going through some job changes right now , so it may take a few days. Mantis on this board is a good contact for LSLC in Houston.

I vote for the 73...but any would be fine.

Katemcy is smack dab in the middle of Mason and Brady, 1hr west of Austin.

Bring it/them.

Okay............ you rule

I love your line up of cruisers.

Damn diesel head, I know just what our thunkin...... good fuel economy and even better a million mile engin.

Your making me drool al over my key board, nice collection.

Dieseldog,

Cool lineup! Glad to see you signed up for TLCA. LSLC are a good group and youll definately benefit from their experience. I am with a TLCA chapter here in Houston, The Texas Land Cruiser Club-Houston. Since we are all part of the Toyota community, you would be welcome to carravan up to Katemcy with us. Nothing better than a line of criusers headin down the road. Some in our group are looking at a car hauler as well and you may be able to get in on that.

Well, my 42 is better set-up for offroading as it has a locker in the rear, a lift, and a 9000 lb winch up front. Also, it's blown with an AXT turbo that I installed a while back. All four Cruisers are roadworthy and I have taken each of them to Dallas on more than one occasion.

Hi. Welcome aboard. I'm the one who wngrog said is the good LSLC-Houston contact. I'm not too active on this board, more of a lurker, but I'll post something once every blue moon.

Feel free to e-mail me if you want to get together for a beer and talk cruisers, or better yet come over to my house and we'll brew up a batch of Broken Birfield Ale for the Round-Up.

As for what cruiser to bring to the Round-Up, I say the 45. Is yours the RHD that I've seen driving on Westheimer outside of the beltway? I've seen a tan/khaki one a couple of times, but I've been stuck in traffic the opposite direction both times. I have a '65 fj45 that I'll be driving to the Round-Up in.

Anyway, that is long enough.

Later,
Mike

Thanks, Mantis. And YES, that's my 45. I'm on Westheimer with it fairly often. On that truck, I've pulled the H41 and installed an H55F, installed AC, reupholstered the seats in black leather, and installed the spare tire pulley from an FJ-60 in the back under the bed. I also installed the jtoutfitters front disk brake conversion which has made a huge difference.

Nice truck.

I work at Westheimer & Wilcrest (actually a block south of Westheimer on Wilcrest). If you want to get together for a beer some evening just give me a shout.

Want to part with the h41?
Thanks, Alan

The tranny swap was completed over a year ago. The transfer case went to my buddy Javier at Javier's Autos Unlimited for his 76 FJ-40 (he's always breaking stuff on rocks!). The H41 went to my friend up in Garland who has helped me innumerable times with fabrication issues, etc. Sorry, Chef.
