Hello

Just joined and this is my first Land Cruiser/ LX470 and I've always wanted to get one. Used to own a 2005 4runner and its now in Texas with my brother at 320K and still running. i got a 2006 LX470 with 210K miles on it. Everything's working and a very slight leak that I took to my mechanic who took off the front crank case thinking that the leak was either coming from there or from the camshaft seals but it wasn't and he suspected it was a little bit of a leak from the oil pump. He said the VVT gears looked great so far and the water pump and timing belt still looked good (given that on the documentation said that they had been serviced at 170K). So i probably have another 30K before i have to replace that. Anyway my mechanic said that the leak was basically just drops and didn't think it was worth taking apart the engine to do that and that i should just keep an eye on the oil levels. I put in some AT-205 and haven't had any problems. Luckily don't even notice any drips in my driveway.

the sunroof had a really bad leak but i followed some of the threads here on how to take it off and clean the drains and that worked out well!

My AHC seems low and when i hit a dip particularly hard one day i noticed my truck bottomed out and it was riding at the low height. I adjusted the height up and down until i got it back to normal but now i'm nervous that my system may have a leak somewhere. I haven't had a chance to check yet underneath but I will this week and just in case i ordered some AHC fluid. But if its bad It sounds like depending on what the issue is I'll either have to replace the globes or make sure none of the lines are leaking at the least.

Other than that it seems to run good. Drove it from So Cal to Monterey and back no problem and the oil didn't even go down. Crossing my fingers that the issue for the AHC isn't that bad. And I have to say that this site is really a great resource for the people who own these vehicles and i'm sure everyone says that over and over so I'm glad i can share my initial experience.

Cheers!
