I agree, the v6 LC200 felt very sluggish, it was the main reason I sold it. I now own a LC300 with the same engine, but it feels much better to drive in comparison and feels much better in the sand dunes compared to the LC200 with the same engine. The weight loss must have made a huge difference!I can definitely feel the difference in torque and the middle east lc200 diesel spec is underpowered so there is big room for improvement, perhaps an exhaust system with a tune would make it very different
The v6 was nice overall but when i tried it in the dunes it felt very sluggish, i was reaching max rev with not much power and with this v8 it feels like it has more room to breathe
Thats less bc of middle east and less bc of diesel. It is bc the car is manual. Thats why you have a reduced power. With that clutch Toyota did go the safe way with less power. But you can increase the horsepower to the amoint of the automatic diesels but you need to install a stronger clutch.I can definitely feel the difference in torque and the middle east lc200 diesel spec is underpowered so there is big room for improvement, perhaps an exhaust system with a tune would make it very different

The clutch is on my list of upcoming upgrades, are there any brands that you recommend?Thats less bc of middle east and less bc of diesel. It is bc the car is manual. I got 1000km’s out of a full tank on my diesel.I agree, the v6 LC200 felt very sluggish, it was the main reason I sold it. Have you calculated how much range you get out of a full tank compared to the V6?
Sadly nothing to recommend since I didn’t rise the hp. I mean it could be more but it is enough for me and in offroad it doesn’t matter with this torque if you have 220hp or 300. And on the highway the comfort limit is more done by my old man emu suspension and the tires who start feeling uncomfy at 170km/h.The clutch is on my list of upcoming upgrades, are there any brands that you recommend?
Lol i couldnt agree more its always a case of engine longevity vs high performance but i think it doesnt harm to have a little extra performanceSadly nothing to recommend since I didn’t rise the hp. And least but not last the motor will last longer hehe.
I did make a post on switching over to 0 offset wheels by fifteen52 but sadly i had to switch back to oem because of how rough it was and by that i mean radial scrubbing and tight clearances with the inner suspension assembly.@Q8Diesel gorgeous truck. Did you end up changing the wheels?
Lol tell me about it buddy its a gemJealous of everything in this thread. Manual transmission, diesel, cloth interior, no sunroof... all of it.
Thanks for your warm welcome and i really have to say the rig has shown no issues what so ever in our 50deg celsius weather and i really cant wait to go offroad once the weather cools down.Welcome from a fellow diesel driver. Here in Aus about 90% of 200s are 4.5 TTDs with the auto. I did a short trip into the dunes out from Dubai in a V6 200 a few years ago: it seemed to be revving it's head off the whole time. Even with the grunt of the factory 4.5 tune, an ECU reflash and exhaust makes a noticeable difference, plus for us here keeping auto fluid temps down by using a torque converter lockup teams well with the extra power for very relaxed cruising.
