Just received my annual National Parks pass in the mail…first step for an Assateague adventure this spring…

So an update. The truck has undergone some serious work in the last 8 months since I got it. Land Cruiser Heaven did an inspection on the truck. The tapping I mentioned wound up being from the bottom end, and some large metal was removed from the oil so the truck got an engine swap. While it was at LCH, I had a 2” dobinson kit with IMS shocks and rear control arms installed. They also baselined all the fluids, serviced the AC and other odds and ends I’m forgetting. Dealing with Frank and LCH was a pleasure and I plan to use them for routine maintenance and any major work moving forward. Personally I put a new exhaust (stock to cats, and BRE cat back) sound deadening on the inside, and all new carpet.

I’ve taken the trip on a few longer trips, round trip, 500ish miles and got 14.5 mpg, which struck me as pretty darn good.

At this point I’m looking for some day trips, and dispersed camping.

Currently I’m building out some drawers and a sleeping platform for the rear.
