Hey folks new member checking in. I bought NMrockeater’s car. I thought I’d say hi, ask some questions, and post a few photos.
I was shopping for something to drive every day that could also get me off road and on trails to access fun stuff outdoors that my sports car isn’t suited for. I was looking mostly at Toyota 4Runner V8s (06-09) and VW Touareg V8s (04-07), but stumbled on this thing and had to have it. Truth is, I’ve long had an idea of a lifted 100 Series with big tires in the back of my head. I bought the car in New Mexico and drove it back to where I live in Oregon. Hopefully there are some active members in the area (I PMed one prolific one before realizing he’d been off the forum for a year). I got it off road (first time for me) and had some good fun up on the Tower Arch Off Road Trail in Arches National Park. The day before I had stumbled on another interesting road but didn’t want to brave it in only one vehicle at such a late time of day with no previous knowledge.
Initial questions:
What tire pressure should I be running on the Goodyear Duratrac 315/75/R16s for everyday driving? How much should I be airing down for off road use? A Jeep forum quoted about 30psi for this tire on what’s got to be a significantly lighter vehicle, so what do you guys say on a 100 Series with bumpers?
The rear diff lock has trouble engaging. I’ve heard this is a common issue with these. Is it worth fixing? Any idea what the common causes of this are or how much they typically cost to put right?
The third row seats like to flop around when stowed up. Are those straps with the hooks on them meant to hook on the ceiling handles to secure these? If not, what are those for?
I’ll end with mod talk. This thing is pretty well equipped as it is. The only things I could see adding in the near future are an LED light bar in front of the roof rack and 06/07 OEM LED tail lights. Maybe a rooftop tent and a few other things that slip my mind down the road.
The road I didn't get a chance to try

Yes. Hook the seats to the grab handle with the straps. That should take care of your rattle problem. Where in Oregon do you live? I'm in Ontario.
