Hi all,
Just introducing myself all the way from sunny Scotland. I've a 90 series SWB Prado that I originally picked up in Tasmania, OZ as a grey import - loved it so much that I've taken with me ever since!

I've not modified it in any way [never needed to] but now I'm in a remote part of Scotland I'm finding that doing my own maintenance and servicing is probably the way to go - so any help will be much appreciated. I'm about to do the 120k full service in the next couple of weeks - locating the parts over the net.

That's about it.

Cheers, Iniz

Hi Tepui,

I'll get a shot in soon - the one I have are too big to be accepted. Just need to wait till it stops raining!!

Thanks for the welcome.

Scotland ay.

Welcome to the forum.

I tell ya what, these Prado's do certainly get around, don't they.

What were ya doin in Tassie, visit or livin.

Cheers

I recently returned from a visit to your country, have I got a deal for YOU!

You can come live in lovely Iowa and work my boring job and I'll go live in Scotland. How's that sound?

Good, get my scones ready.

I love that country.

Hi Dhula,
I lived and worked down the Huon for 5 years before bouncing across the ditch to NZ for a couple of years. Great fun in tassie and managed to see a fair bit of it through work. Hope to get down there to see some mates later this year.

Hi Doc
Ha, ha thanks for the offer but it's taken me 7 years to get back here and I've no plans to shift again for a while yet, and not just because the scones are so good!!

Cheers - I'll get a pic up soon.

The car, one of the earliest models - built may '96 and has the old front end [round headlights] - generally used on the road and forestry tracks here in Scotland, but will be getting new springs and front shocks this year.
Have had it in some sticky places oversea's and it's never been troubled once. Great wee beastie!

Och aye, there seem's to be plenty about both here in the UK and NZ, and I've test driven the 95's but personally preferred the 90, but then 'if ya dunna ken wit am sayin jus spear.'

Liked your thread on the DP chip - informative, I've got one and trying to get another but it's difficult being over here now. They are very good.

Ha, ha - that's some can of worms you openned up there on the chips. Have you been to the tuners yet?

Funny things over here - I have to disconnect mine before going through an MOT [road worthy stat. test] as it would fail the emmisions test. You'll have noticed the poor response up to about 1800 rpm [pre chip] - this is because of the emmisions regs in europe, so toyota restrict the fuel [shame!]. Anyway, I can see where the 'handle' comes from now - DT indeed.

No tuning info yet. Refer the relevant thread I've started on this forum. Also a large can of worms. It seems that some people have very strong opinions on these gadgets. I try not to get emotional about it, its only an engine enhancement, not a relationship for life. ;)

D.T.
