I bought Lauren Conrad (LC for short), in October of last year. It has been my family’s only vehicle since then and has been great despite also being a piece of crap in many ways.
It turned out to be salvaged title and annoyingly the bottom half was truck bed lined despite not being very rusty.
It also leaked about a quart a week and when I fixed the busted coolant hoses and cruised it to the gas station I had to add 6 quarts of oil to top it off
Since then I’ve replaced the master and slave cylinders. Every coolant hose on the truck except the lower radiator hose and the back seat heater hoses. A belt. The oil pan gasket. The valve cover gasket. Air filter, fuel filter.
The passenger tie rod end broke out of its socket during an alignment, so I upgraded to 1-Ton outers.
There’s a million other little things I’ve done like wire brushing the entire undercarriage and epoxy coating it all.
It’s a really dang good truck/SUV and it shocks me how it cranks right up even when below zero! (With a healthy application of choke).
Since it is salvaged, and has had rear sliding windows riveted on horribly, and host of other ridiculously awful hacks and fixes. My plan is a bit of a resto mod. Im just aiming for a mix of a stock and prototype style 80’s Dakar truck.
Very similar to the Fanta Limón Nissan Patrol.
