Long time listener, first time caller! I received my ‘24 GX550 Overtrail+ last month and am already deep into mods. Really excited to see what products get released for this new vehicle. This is going to be another all-out build for me and I really hope you follow and comment on the progress!! I’ve already swapped the OEM wheels and tires for 17’ ICON Rebound Pro’s wrapped in 35x12.5 Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/Ts. This week ADGU (Air Down Gear Up) is finalizing the rear cargo platform system (pics on their IG and mine). After that? Bumpers, sliders, and rack from Dissent Off-Road! Oh, and hopefully ICON or Dobinsons gets a suspension system out there VERY soon, ha!

Do you know the offset on those wheels? Icon told me they did not have any 17" wheels for the 250 on their website because they did not like the offset, but the ones on your 550 look pretty decent. I believe Icon said their 17" wheels are 25mm offset but Icon believes that 40mm is what's proper. I mean, I guess we are only talking 15mm, which is just over half an inch. Can't be that big of a deal.

These are +25 and I think the stance is legit. Next week I’ll be getting onto some trails in CO and will have a better idea of figment….hopefully I don’t have any issues, or rip a fender off haha! Dissent Off-Road is running a different ICON wheel with +40.
 
I’m very interested to hear if you have any tire issues once you get off the pavement. I live in CO and just took delivery of a 550 OT+ last week. Definitely hoping for some good armor options soon. I’d like to run larger tires, but not interested in ANY rubbing. I’ve been running the trails in CO for a long time on 33-34” tires with no issues. Please report back after your trip. Oh, and have fun!
 
@sleeoffroad is selling 1" Spidertrax spacers for the GX550. These would result in the same 25mm offset when added to the factory wheels. Given Slee's reputation, I assume they've tested the size and determined it to be appropriate. Maybe they could chime in on all the offset questions popping up here and elsewhere.

It is also nice that Icon is the only wheel manufacturer I've seen that has the correct hub bore, too.

Which part number are the ICON wheels you picked up? I'm looking into the 17" setup for a buddy. What suspension setup did you do, or is this still in stock?
 
Caution on the +25, folks. Here, starting at 9'30", is ICON themselves testing a 25mm offset on the LC250. They show that a 285/70/17 (~33x11) just clears the fender on compression but warn that a larger tire will have issues clearing at that offset without extended bump stops to limit the uptravel. In the earlier part of the video, they show that a 40mm offset clears wide 35s and below.



Waiting myself on a video from them for the GX550.

will need to take a look. the +25mm is also a 8.5" wide wheel vs 9" at 40mm
 
I reached out to ICON through our rep (I'm a dealer for ICON alloys), and they noted pure engineering opinion vs who is running them.

He responded with 18" +40mm ( 9" wide rim) and 17 +25 (8.5" rim). A bunch of customers run the 17" wheel. In the video, they refer more to a similar 9" wide 17" wheel but did recommend the RECON for its flat-face design.

I still expect some work, but the biggest would be tire choice. We may be ordering a 17" Recon set with KM3 35's here shortly. If we do will report back.
