Almost forgot, where do you guys recommend buying parts for the LX version? Online resource perhaps? Looking to buy some of these parts so I can do some of this work myself.

Update 4-26:

Stereo System: In case you didn't see my other post, I was able to install a double-din media center without much modification. See this post: https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/727605-installed-double-din-2000-lx470.html

Alignment: This will be done tomorrow (Saturday) at a local Les Scwab Center.

Wheels/Tires: This one has be absolutely frustrated. While I like the wheels that are on the LX now, they are too far inside and look funny. I'm going to take a look at some larger tires tomorrow that may make a change. But, right now the LX drifts all over the highway unless I put her in Sport mode. I have looked at purchasing a set of Tundra 18" wheels from someone who swapped out theirs from stock.

On that note, does anyone know if a Tundra 18" wheel have the same offset as the 16" stock LX470 rim? I've been told my stock 16" rim is anywhere from 35-45mm. Shops and web searches tell me that 20mm is the lowest offset I'd want to go without the wheel sticking outside of the fenders.

Camping: Looking at either a rooftop rack or pop-up trailer for some fun this summer. I'd go with an Airstream, but, just don't want to spend $40k..

Brakes: These seem to be getting worse (pulsing) as I drive. This is a heavy rig, so, I'm planning to get the Slee rotors and having them installed this next month. I don't have the tools to do this myself: http://tlcfaq.com/main/2012/07/ft-wheel-bearing-brakes-refurb-parts-list/

Engine Air Filter: Replaced stock with a really nice K&N unit from Amazon.com.

Passenger Air Filter: Pollen season is here and I live in Oregon where there is a #$#)@ ton of grass pollen in the air. I found some awesome carbon-based air filters on Amazon. These are great because they filter outside smells from entering the cabin. Great fitment and work great. Here's a link: http://amzn.com/B007HOWTM4

Spark Plugs: Decided to forget this for now (based on your advice, thanks)

Fog Lights: This one was a challenge, but, I figured out this ride had missing relays! I couldn't believe the previous owner drove it around without rear heater working or the fog lights. They must have just figured it wasn't worth the cost. Here's a link to my post about those: https://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-cruisers/719553-lx470-fog-lights.html

BTW: Thanks to all of you on this forum, I've found this excellent site with articles about the LC/LX http://tlcfaq.com/main/article-index/

All of these are CANDY for my eyes...

Until next time!!

wow, that sounds like a pretty big tire size. According to tirerack, they've got it listed as a 33" tire which isn't too far off from the 32" i was looking at. Do you have a photo you can share?

Update 5-5-2012:

Running boards, gone. I wanted to somehow get past that "soccer mom" look and this was one of the biggest and easiest ways to do it. Sliders are coming, as soon as I make up my mind on who's to buy. Most likely need a slider/step combo to get up to the rack on top, which will also be replaced.

Actually, I did find some unused wiring terminations stuck to the side of the OE running boards. I assume they were for optional lights?

Alignment done. This made a huge improvement on my daily use of this ride. I've gone from holding the wheel to the left as I drive, to cruising without a concern. The tires are also on their last legs, which leads me to believe the alignment was needed pretty bad.

Engine and cabin air filters replaced. Since I went with K&N for the engine filter, I can swear there is better acceleration (it's probably in my head though). Cabin air filter (carbon based) is awesome, and old filters were clogged with debris.
