A few weeks back I drove from L.A. to Vegas and back in my '04 stock LC. 75 mph with cruise control in both directions. 16.5 mpg there and 17.2 on the way home.

I get solid 16.5 with 33s and a RTT at 6-9K feet elevation and going through passes. The trick is smooth slow acceleration and keeping the inertia as previously mentioned. I also do not go past 2100 rpm getting to cruising speed. I really think that my RTT is improving my mpg. It is like a big wing. Rig is loaded with all my fishing, camping and biking gear, ARB ref is always cooling down. No metal rear bumps yet. I believe that will change things.
