Hi All - I am 5 months into owning my '25 LC Prem with about 2K miles clocked.
The truck was delivered w ~1k miles clocked (dealer mgr was using it as a demo).
I have a road trip planned next week, about 1300 miles each way.
What are y'alls thoughts on whether I should have the initial 6 month / 5k mile maintenance done now versus after the trip? Is it worth having the oil proactively changed now as well or best to wait until after & closer to the 10k mile mark?

I'd change your oil every 5,000 miles regardless of what Toyota says. 10,000 miles is just too long of an OCI in any vehicle, especially one with a turbocharger like the LC250 has. And, especially in a brand-new engine. Plus, if you read the owners manual, it will likely tell you to change it more frequently if the vehicles experiences things like driving in anything other than light-throttle highway conditions.

FWIW - my Highlander Hybrid gets 5K OCIs (Toyota says 10K), as does my GX. My small engines, tractor, etc get yearly oil changes despite not getting a lot of hours on them.

Thanks @Rednexus agree on all fronts I guess -- I guess I'm struggling with whether to have the oil refreshed now given the current miles and that the truck is new / in break-in period and I'm about to rack up 3k miles in 90+ deg heat treking up and down I-95

If it were my rig, I'd 100% go ahead and change it given the potential for the oil to have contamination in it from break-in and then the hard driving conditions.

However you could also DIY the change to avoid taking it to the dealer. In that case it would just be a straight-up oil and filter change with none of the other things the dealer does at their servcie. Then have the dealer change it for the 5K service, 10K service, etc.

Change it- easy DIY job. Takes 6 qts, oil filter has a funnel for easy drain with no mess, oil plug has a little hatch and tends to splash a little but otherwise an enjoyable vehicle to service the oil and filter,
