I'm pleased to say, after three months or so of looking, I'm now a Land Cruiser owner. (I've always owned Fords, so it's a bit surprising to hear myself say that) It seemed that the local stock here in Portland was somewhat thin so I began to consider buying out of state, and then of course I had some concerns about that. Several of you helped answer some of my questions though and gave me some good pointers for buying long-distance, so I continued to explore that option. Fortunately, I found a prospective vehicle in Los Angeles and had a friend go take a look at it for me. She gave me a good report, and I sent off the deposit that following Monday. I flew from PDX down to L.A., fired it up, turned around and drove right straight back this last weekend. I had no problems whatsoever. It used an unbelievable amount of fuel (for what I'm used to anyway), but I had no real issues other than a non-functioning cd changer.

It seemed a pretty good deal- 178k miles, excellent maintenance records, new tires, no accidents, completely stock and un-molested. Some scratches, minor dents and dings, and interior grunge including spilled paint on the cargo area carpeting (need a tan rear carpet, anyone got one?). $9500.00- I jumped on it!

I've already removed the running boards, and most of the gold emblems.

What do you think?

Very nice. Wanted that color when I found mine.

That color seems appropriate for the PNW.

Nice rig.

What do you plan to use it for?

Exploring the PNW, naturally. ;)

It seems there is an unlimited number of destinations around me that I'd like to explore and experience. I've heard there are places where you can actually make out the tracks left by the Oregon trail wagon parties, I'd like to see that. And then up into Canada and the Puget Sound area maybe Alaska at some point.

..tires, suspension, rooftop tent, life support essentials, all that.

Nice! If that color had been available when I was looking earlier this year I would have gotten it. A rare color to see. Most out this way are either black, white, silver or champagne from what I can tell. I will be looking for that color whenever I need to trade in.

Very nice.. And I guarantee youll get tired of hearing how we all love that color lol! Wish mine was that color :).
