New joiner, French Alps with LJ73

Hi Everyone,

Just joined the Landcruiser club with a 1990 LJ73 up in the French Alps. Should have done it years ago but after having a couple of Pajeros, a 4Runner, a Nissan Patrol GR, a Landrover (never again) and a Hilux (still got it, but a dedicated snow plough
) I've come to my senses.

It's in pretty good condition for 34 years old with a 2LT engine. I'm now working on the inside a bit more.

I did prefer the round headlight versions, just wondered if anyone has converted a square model to round headlights? Would I need to change the wings or just the light mounting panel behind the grille etc?

I'm also looking to change all the carpets throughout, any recommendations for suppliers? Difficult to find unless exactly same as a later model HZJ etc.

Finally had anyone put an intercooler on the 2LT engine, recommendations gratefully received.

you would have to compare side by side between the round headlight and square headlight front end. just going from memory I would say you would have to change fenders also.
carpets/interior options I think would only be newer 70 series which should fit I would assume.

Yep I was thinking it would, alternatively there's a dude in Pakistan / Dubai who can provide a bolt in modified light panel, surrounds and grille using the existing wings and bumper for €600... Thought it was a bit high but obviously a lot less work...

Yep I've subsequently found a gold mine of intercooler chat, cheers.
