So I went to take my Technician exam today. I passed without a problem ... And the test giver asks if I want to take the General license exam while I was there. I hadn't studied for it, but hey, it was only going to cost me time since I was already there... Why not!

I quickly realized my personality trained me well. As I read the questions, the answers, although perhaps a bit foreign, seemed familiar. When I was studying for the tech exam, I kept calling my dad (a ham for many, many decades) and asking him to explain WHY the answer was what it was. Anyone can find the test questions and answers, but I wanted to know the theory or whatever behind the answer.

It paid off well since I passed the General class test as well! W00t!!!

Don't have a call sign yet, but should in a day so...

Congrats! are you putting one in your trail rig? We (STLCA) have a half dozen or so members with them and its been great.

Thanks!

And Yes I'll have a mobile rig soon. Most guys on 2M right? I've been fighting antenna mount issues with a firestick and a CB... finally gave in and got a proper mount for the hatch and I'll put my antenna there. Seems like the rear tire carrier messes with the antenna efficiency unfortunately.
