Purchased my GX470 on Monday after having Nalley Lexus complete a pre-purchase inspection. I was previously aware of the driver's side airbag issue already but they gave me great peace in providing the full service history from Sewell Lexus in Dallas.
I've been reading CL/IH8 threads pertaining to the Air-to-Coil conversion before researching and planning so I wanted to run it by you kind folks, ask questions & get some input.

Southern Style Offroad
GX470 AIR TO COIL SPRING CONVERSION KIT
$85

Old Man Emu
2885 (Medium +2")
$175

Old Man Emu
2895e (Medium & <2")
$175

Are the $180 upper Spring Sub-Assembly totally necessary or can those wait until later?
Anyone with experience 2895e?

I have OME medium all around, 2" coil overs in front, 2885 2" springs/shocks in rear with metal tech coil conversion stage 2 with isolator etc. BFG KO2's 285/70/17 on stock rims with 1.25" spacers.

Always found this color to be very, "Grownup" My kind of style, could never find one when looking, unfortunately. Congrats on the purchase.

Love the rig Slowhog. How have you got on with your OME suspension. Am looking at the same 2885 front and 2895 at the rear. How is the ride at the front without a winch or metal bumper? Most of the time mine runs empty and only loaded when out on the trails so want something not too harsh....

OME suspension is great after 2 years! Still nothing out front to add weight but it is not harsh at all. My 16 y/o son drove it for a year but we got him a Highlander for college. So I put the Wilco tire carrier back on last week and added a Surco Safari roof rack...I’m in love again!

And why not - they are amazing cars. A couple more questions (mainly as I'm in the UK and there are not many around here let alone that have been lifted)...

Do you remember if a spacer was added (have seen one post one was added to the your driver side)
Could you measure from the bottom of the wheel (not tyre) to the arch front and rear so I can see what I'm gaining.

Thanks

This is me recently on stock suspension...

Nice pics! Not sure about a spacer, I do have wheel spacers, 1.25 in, to put wheels further out.

rears are 31.5 inches from bottom of wheel/rim to arch and fronts are 30.75 inches to arch. Not sure it is currently sitting completely level but that should give you an estimation.

kind of amazing that you are able to get someone on the other side of the planet to go outside and measure a truck just like that!

let us see her when she gets lifted!
