I'm about to pull the trigger...

Radflow front coil-overs
Total Chaos upper control arms

Any thoughts or experiences, please share. If all goes well, it should be fitted and rolling mid July.

Sounds great! how do you know the Radflow's will work?

What benefit will these provide?

I'm not familiar with those though my gut would tell me to not buy a "partial" anything. I'd wait for a balanced "kit" of some sort so the improvement and/or lift is all around and made for one another.

Radflo makes quality components and should be a good setup. Do they have a shocks specifically for the Tundra/LC or do they need to build a custom shock for you? What's the diameter of shock body? (2, 2.5, 3). Might need to play with the valving a little, but that's the fun part.

Also you might want to call up Camburg and see what they have in the works for the Upper Arms. They have a lot of miles on the Tundra, so I would think that will carry over to the LC. There has been much discussion on TC vs Camburg, but I have not test either. Can't beat info learned from racing a vehicle though (Camburg - Tundra).

Radflo had put front coilovers on the SEMA TRD LC200. It is a 2" shock body, that will fit with the Total Chaos upper arms. Essentialy they are custom coilovers but work for the LC200. The valving is adjustable (Schrader valve - so can do it almost anywhere), and nitrade steel shaft...super strong. The reason I was thinking Radflo, is they are cheaper than others, and have replacable parts.

Called up Camburg and talked with them. They said they had upper control arms that work, but upon further inspection, I think they are going to have issues. If you go to Total Chaos' site and compare the Tundra and LC200 upper arms, they are shaped differently. When I looked closer at my current suspension, the Tundra arms Camburg has, will not fit.

They will be fitting up a vehicle for this years SEMA show, but right now it is a pet project and not top priority. Their plan is to throw on the current upper arms (Tundra), but they haven't done so.

I was also thinking going with the Camburg 2.5" shock body for the Tundra, and using the Total Chaos upper arms.

What benefit will these provide?

1. Adjustability = 0" to 3" lift in front, Valving, Compression, Rebound, etc.
2. Ride Quality

My main goal is to level the stance (not lift), and allow for 33" tires. I have purchased pucks or spacers (whatever you want to call them), but this isn't necessarily the best way to go. There can be alignment issues when raising, specifically camber, that is why the control arms are almost necessary.

I want to have a ride I can go anywhere with...fast, and then pick customers up on Monday morning.

Talked with my local guy here in Canada (he knows all the guys in SoCal racing scene) and he advised that Greg at Radflo has a 2" shock body that will work with the LC200 and with Total Chaos upper arms.

If you recall, the SEMA LC200 last year had the front done by Radflo, so they have already made a custom shock that will work.

I was thinking this too...maybe a OME lift (I have one on my 80), but I really want to go with a coilover setup instead of springs and shocks. A little less weight (not much), and a ton more adjustability.

I would highly recommend going with at least a 2.5in shock (Radflo, Icon, King, etc. - most are great quality) if you plan to use off-road. I spent (too much) IFS race development on my Toyota truck, those shocks get super hot and want to fade (that's on a 3,500 lb vehicle). Now try and add the valving for a 6,000lb LC, wow! Try any way you can to increase the oil capacity. Use a remote res (it seems a trend is to place a floating piston in the shock body for ease of mounting, I think you loose too much oil capacity). We used circulating oil lines to cycle hot oil from the shock to the res. I believe Radflo will build anything you want. They aways seem very open to ideas. Anyway just some ideas to think about.

I believe the big difference between the Tundra and 200 is the over all width, the Tundra being 3.5" wider. The extra width comes from longer suspension arms (the frames measure the same), that is why you see a difference in shape when comparing the pictures of the uniball arms.

Well Radflio informed me that the custom Coilovers for the LC200 are completed and is going to ship today!

Mine should be here Monday, we are both in Southern Cali....

I wonder when chimyz in Canada will get his!

For the record......chimyz started this!! :bang::bang:

SURE!!!...blame it on me. You know you wanted them.
