Just bought my first FJ40 yesterday and look forward to building it to fit my needs/wants. I bought a 72 with lots of upgrades including FJ80 axles, ARB lockers, 4:88s, 38.5 superswampers, warn Powerplant, 4link rear, looooong travel Fox shocks, howe hydraulic assist steering, full cage and much more. I have a few thing to do to make it streetable such as tube fenders, swaybars etc but will eventually be my daily driver. Gotta go search forums now for a little info

curious

This safety meeting is for inspecting trucks for an upcoming run? I am curious and might want to go if it's appropriate since i did pay to renew my TLCA membership, and I have never been to any sort of meet. Whats it all about ?

I think BnT does this each year? As a non-member, I went two years ago, and they were very gracious and it was great to see some great rigs, meet some nice folks, have some knowledgable cruiserheads to look through your rig and point things out you need to address. Here is the link from a couple years ago: https://forum.ih8mud.com/ca-san-diego-cruisers/230901-beach-toys-bbq-july-19-a.html

You may want to contact them about the open invite for this weekends event, as I don't want to speak for them. Just wanted to give them a thumbs up.

Adam is correct- this is done every year and the BBQ is open to any Toyota 4x4 owner.

Having the safety inspection is one of the requirement's for joining the club. The other requirements are active TLCA member and joing the club on two runs. And of course getting "approved" by the members.

And don't worry if you miss it- your still welcome to attend meetings or go on runs.

It is also a good opportunity to have your vehicle on a lift without any financial implications:cheers:

We also have a great run up Sawmill trail the following Sunday.

Nice entrance!

That 40 looks wicked, and that shop looks awesome too. It's right around the corner from my office. I'd love to get a peek!

So once I have had the inspection and gone on two runs do I get some kind of ceremony or placard? :D Seriously though what happens?

Second where is Sawmill trail?

Ill ty to head over on Sat. I will be working at my shop for a while which is close to miramar. The cars in the pics are not mine unfortunately. They belong to the owner of the property who I lease the shop space from. Again, anyone who wants to stop bye, PM me or give me a call 714-604-6326 tom

You get to buy us all a round of drinks in the bar:D

Sawmill trail is on the east side of the Santa Rosa Mountain range - east of Anza. It is a great run that starts out as a open climbing fire road with the last few miles climbing through the pines to the top. It has a few technical sections- but any rig that has a mild lift can do it. It really is a neat local trail and has excellent views.

In years past- parts of the trail have been blocked by down tree's.
