Okay, so I own 3 LC's and now one FJC. I have an Lx450 one 1984 fj60 and a 1988 fj62 and I've never been stumped like this dealing with any of them.

my issues is with the FJC, the two major issues:

I'm pretty sure my ABS isn't working properly and my traction isn't working

I'm getting all the abs and trac light on. i ran the codes with my scanner the first time and it pulled 6 codes. i cleared them and only 3 came back, so i decided to try and see what the deal was.

C0205 - left front speed senor signal malfunction

This was causing the other codes to be thrown. so i jacked the truck up pulled the tire off pulled the sensor and it was bone dry, looked brand new actually. Not sure if it was good or not i switched it with the rear sensor on the same side. i cleared the codes and took it down the road and it come back. When ran the codes again only two codes came up. And one of them was still the C0205 code saying that its the front sensor malfunctioning, but i know its not the sensor because i swapped them... I checked connections and cleaned them but still nothing... (the brakes do feel completely different when the codes are cleared, the change when codes come back up)

My other issue with the truck it that is shakes pretty hard only when going between 25 to 35 mph with your foot on the gas pedal, as soon as you let off it stops shaking.

You've probably got a bad wheel sensor somewhere. Mr. T likes to grab your attention by turning all the dash warnings on when something with the ABS goes awry. Wheel sensors ain't cheap, so if you can find one in a junkyard, that's a bonus.

The shuddering/shake you are feeling is the automatic transmission. If you do a simple fluid drop & swap it will likely cure it. Don't flush it. Just drain the fluid, remove the pan, clean the screen, and put it all back together. The fill plug is up on the passenger side of the case about 7-8" above the pan surface. If you drop the pan, you'll need about 5- 5 1/2 quarts of World Spec trans fluid to fill it. If you've never done this, then you may want to read up more on it. The pan has two plugs: one is the drain and the other is the fill check plug.

It's saying that's it's the front left speed sensor, but I swapped them out and it's still saying its the front left sensor. I can get my hands on a sensor for around $130 but it doesn't make sense to change it if it's throwing the same code after I swapped the sensors... Am I wrong??

How good is your scanner? You may want to take it to a shop that has a professional gauge scanner that can see all activity and narrow down your search. My scan gauge detects generic codes but not detailed codes very well.

Can't help you with the sensor codes, but that last one could also be your rear drive shaft - either a bad u-joint, really loose flange bolts, or even out-of-phase if perchance a previous owner took it off and apart and didn't put it back in phase. At any rate, it wouldn't even take two minutes under the truck to inspect the u-joints, flange bolts, and the phase of the drive shaft. Five minutes if re-torque the flange bolts. Then you can eliminate that and focus on the transmission as Rick suggested.

I've got a pretty good scanner, reads all the codes and can program it's a shop scanner

I really appreciate it guys. The shaking sounds manageable but these codes are giving me a bad feeling for some reason.. I hope it's not a wiring issue

Is there a tool that I can buy to fill the transmission?

All you have to have is a little hand pump for your ATF bottle, and a hose on it to stick in the fill port. But the easiest way if you have a helper is to rig a funnel in the engine bay (zip tie it to something convenient like the windshield wiper arm) and run a hose from the funnel down to the fill port. This is the way to go if you're going to flush it as opposed to just draining the pan.

The shaking is the shudder issue many of the FJs have. Do a search on FJ Shudder and you will have an idea what am referring to, its a Torque converter issue, I have the same issue that am also dealing with. Visit the FJ Cruiser forum and u will see tons of discussion on this issue - SUCKS!

I actually drained the Trans fluid and changed it. And the shuddering is completely gone now. I've also heard that it could be a converter issue as well. My FJC HAS 283000 miles on it.
