New FJ Owner Needs Help

Hello, I just got a fj62 200k (I've wanted one since I was 12) and am going to be replacing the power steering pump, When it would start It was making a grinding noise like the bearing was running dry for about 5 min then it would go away this happened for two weeks when we had a cold snap up here in alaska -20 below and I did park in my friends garage for a nite and the noise wasn't present on start up the noise it gone now that it has warmed back up. Well I ordered a new pump and got it but I don't know where the belt tensior is to lossen up the belt. Also is there is anything that is not striaght forward about swapping on the old resivior, etc. I did allitle searching on the forum and all that came up so far is a tip about taking the pully off the shaft. Any tips Thanks guys

I would check your fluid level first. Is it leaking?

The tensioner for that belt is on the alternator. It is straight across the the top of the engine. Follow the belt and you cannot miss it.

He has a 62, and I think the belt routing is different...I've worked on my sisters 62, but can't picture where the tensioner is just now...

Thanks for the correction. I was describing an FJ60.

I'll look at my 62 today and post a picture when the sun comes up.

He has a 62, and I think the belt routing is different....
