new engine for 1979 fj40

Hey guys i was thinking about getting a new engine for my fj40, because the old one is on its way to hell. i would like to know what options i have out there, want to keep it toyota so small block v8 is not good for me. also want to keep my 4speed manual trans,and original transfer case. would like to have efi on it. i take it off road a lot but have no trailer so need to drive to the trail and back. tacoma v6 would be nice because i have one in my 99 trd. does enyone makes bell housing to fit my 4speed besides the stock and v8 engines?

Is it burning more oil than it used to or did something else go wrong? You could swap in a 3FE and get fuel injection and keep everything else. You could also rebuild the engine you already have and know.
