Well, pretty straight forward project here, but the result turned out really nice. Had some scrap wood and finally tackled what I wanted to do for a while... Entire project cost only $25 bucks, all I had to buy was a 3" hole saw and the piece of carpeting. I had the wood and adhesive spray on hand, and for the record I finished off the holes with plastic speaker ports from a set of old home speakers. Easily one of the best and cheaper mods I've done to my 73... Enjoy... :)

Very nice, I wanted to do something similar but I have an anti theft device that gets in the way, so I use ram mount cup holders that attach to the windshield with suction cups, no complaints so far.

How do you like running it with no carpet? too much road noise? I'm thinking about taking mine out, but I would put a home made vinyl liner to protect the floor against scratches.

This my cups / bottles holder. 3.99$ ;)

I like it without the carpet, I am planning on Line-Xing it... I always thought this truck was a tad noisy so as for road noise its a little louder but I dont mind it. Its only really loud on the highway which my truck sees little of.

...by the way, nice cup holder David!

myself, that would drive me nuts.

Good idea mate looks a treat and very practical.

So far it is free standing, the notches in the bottom hold it very well to the floor plus it has very little lateral space to move. I think I'll just leave it sitting, if I need to pull the tranny pan I will easily be able to pull it out... to me it is the most practical way of incorporating cup holders in the 70 series
