Hello:

Is there a trick to resetting the LC after putting in a new battery?

Replaced a dead battery today
All the lights come on but LC won’t start
Engine immobilization (lock icon) is flashing

Thanks!

Does the lock-unlock work on fob? When it does start be ready for it to die quickly then subsequent attempts should work as normal.

I've replaced several batteries on my 200, and have never had any special procedures. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries, like RET2 said above.

yes. Lock-unlock works. The car was dead and after new battery inside lights now come on and radio reset, can hear the ABS noise when brake is pressed.

I am NOT a car person but lucky to have a neighbor to help out. We are stuck in quarantine bubble and can’t towed to service.

Foot on break? Just saying a new battery get some giddy. Just for grins remove and reinstall cables, wouldn't hurt.

May not be the case for you, but try pressing the starter button like 3-4 times in a row (foot on the brake, shifter in park).

Here’s a picture of the new battery . Hopefully they sold me the correct battery.

Could be a number of things, possibly coincidence on somethings too.

1) Flashing immobilizer light is normal. I assume the display is not telling you that the key is not detected?
2) Sounds like you can get to accessory start. From there, try holding brake and ignition start button down for at least 15 second to force start.
3) It wouldn't be the first time that a new battery is sold with a low state of charge. Do you have a voltmeter to check? Try jumping car?
4) Check that the terminal clamps are not corroded and are installed securely. Check ground is tied well to chassis.
5) What mileage is on your vehicle and have you ever changed the starter? Coincidence with a failed starter contactor?

Try jumping it to be sure it’s not a lack of full battery charge.
If it still won’t turn over, you may simply have a dead starter. Starters routinely die on Lc’s after roughly 7-10 years...100-120k or so.

Q. When you try to crank, do other lights on dash, interior stay on? If not, make sure you clean and then tightly clamp battery terminals.

67k miles on the truck. Never changed starter.

will try to jump it tomorrow.

If the above isn't working unhook the battery wait a couple minutes hook it up and push the start button only,
it should power up the screen and run through a quick check. Then show you your dealer info. I believe.

i believe it did this when we first hooked it up. Does it make sense to take the time to unhook and hook up again? Kind of a PItA.

Is the new battery charged? Do you have a multimeter to check voltage?

yes. Radio and everything comes on and stays on. Works as expected.

ok just did that
It says “shift to p range” In the dashboard and is beeping ?!! Then back to lights no turnover when I try to start

put the dial on DC voltage as shown, hold the red probe to + battery terminal, black probe to - battery terminal.
