My wife's key FOB is dead. Is the procedure as simple as swapping in a new battery or is any reprogramming required?

Anyone happen to know what type of battery is used? tia

My '13 Cruiser uses a type 1632 coin battery...thank you, God, for a spare in the safe.

I discovered Walgreens Drugs wanted $5.99 for one and the local Ace Hardware was at $4.99. Ordered 10 Sony batteries on Amazon for under $11 or so.

No reprogramming needed. Just double check your battery PN. ;)

^Updated the post with the correct battery. Seems like some of us (me) don't read the manual as much as we should.

It helps to specify what year cruiser you have when posting questions... they have changed over time. Digging through old posts I see it was a 2009.

I did the same on Amazon. Trouble buying in bulk with batteries... if you don't use them often enough they die sitting on the shelf. :(

Funny enough last year I was just starting a camping trip up in the mountains. It was 32 degrees and we were at our last stop in civilization (going off the grid camping).....and my remote battery starting failing....thank goodness there was a walgreens within 20 minutes and I gladly paid the $12.00 for a new battery plus a spare! Now if could have just avoided hitting that small pole in the parking lot before actually even getting off road - that would have been nice....
